This year in spring, having a couple of rainy days in Southern France 🇫🇷, I made a visit on a particularly awful rainy day to this place, and I was able to climb these impossible moves and make an ascent of Inga, 8c /9a ☝️ Moves felt much more doable this time, and I think that my progression in lead climbing has not been that significant over the years, but my progress in bouldering has been huge 🔥 But bouldering has been absolutely crucial to really push these boundaries and make a step from 9a to 9b and then to 9c. The hardest routes in the world have very difficult boulder moves 👊 Enjoy some cool photos by @pet.phot from this amazing sector Deverse, Gorges du Loup crag, and watch the new video on my YouTube channel. You can even check out the whole climb with my commentary in my YouTube membership section 🤜🤛 (Links are in the BIO). Last but not least, you can get a cool poster from the Tango To Nik 8c route right under the waterfall (which wasn’t supposed to be there originally 😄 ) on my eshop.adamondra.com 👌 #climbing #rockclimbing #france @mammut_swiss1862 @lasportivagram @euroholds @mix.it @hudysport @rohlik.cz @sensfoods @211_zpmvcr @mercedesbenz_autojihlava @drwittczsk @the_playbook_house @veolia_cz Cardion

Besides having pretty good training conditions in my hometown Brno (Czechia 🇨🇿), making a “pilgrimage” to @kletterzentruminnsbruck 🇦🇹 before the most important international comps is almost mandatory ☝️ I mostly seek the best quality of routesetting on the leadwalls, but this time I spent a week there and I had a great session training on the famous spraywall with a strong crew and also sampling some slabs as you can see in videos 🤜🤛 And the first video captures 9a onsight 👊 #climbing #sportclimbing #bouldering @mammut @lasportivagram @euroholds @mix.it @hudysport @rohlik.cz @sensfoods @211_zpmvcr @mercedesbenz_autojihlava @drwittczsk @horosvaz.cz @the_playbook_house @veolia_cz @olympcsmv Cardion

I like to think of climbing as a very straightforward game in terms of results 🤔 You either climb the route or not. You fall off or not ☝️ There might be such a thing as “almost sending the route”, but deep in your mind you know only sending the route or boulder problem has real relevance. That is quite different from many other human activities where judgment is mostly very subjective. Unfortunately, even in climbing, it is often not as straightforward as I would like 👊 I talked about this topic more in a new article from @mammut. Heel hooking is, after standing on small footholds, the most basic technical climbing skill 👊 It is important to use the outer side of the heel when heel hooking. This allows you to get a better grip on the heel and link an imaginary chain in your body ☝️ Think of the heel as your third hand. This allows you to pull with your heel. Mobility of your ankles, knees, and hips is important when heel hooking. It is crucial to warm up your legs properly before climbing to prevent injury ✌️ Join me on my YouTube channel to watch the new Tips & Tricks episode and get access to all of my Tips & Tricks bonus videos in the membership section 👉 the link is in BIO. In my opinion, it is actually great that rock climbing is a sport with no judges ☝️ For sure, it is relatively simple to cheat but it is a great learning opportunity for us as humans to learn to be honest and fair ✌️ I like to think about the world as a place where it is, at least in the long term, good for you to be honest, even though short term, it might be a different story. Take advantage of the learning opportunity to ignore the temptation of dishonesty next time you go climbing 👊 Let’s read a great article from @mammut about my 9a onsight attempt in Cueva Negra cave in Montanejos, Spain 👉 the link is in BIO, and watch the full video on my YouTube channel. Inga is a rather mysterious route, and the name in the epicentre of French 🇫🇷 climbing was established by a Japanese legend, @dai_koyamada 👊 It is a weird route as it is a sitstart into an 8c called 7PM JP Chaud, which is my the 2nd 8c I had ever done back when I was 12 years old ✌️ I have a great memory of that trip when I did this 8c route, especially as I was there with my good friend @martin.stranik, we were climbing in different crags almost every day, wild camping and chasing the highest possible number of routes harder than 8a within 10 days 😅 I think I ticked 19, Martin ticked 18 🔥 I also remember being impressed by Inga, being basically in disbelief at how hard the first moves looked like and thinking like I was nowhere close to having the level to be able to climb through these moves ☝️ Check out the new video on my YouTube channel and watch the whole climb with my commentary in my new membership section 🤜🤛 See you there!
