Friends, there is an urban sky garden coming to an iconic Viaduct in Manchester and I for one am very excited. Bringing the natural world back into our cities as much we can is of paramount importance. Extraordinary projects like this are essential in helping wildlife and plants to thrive, while also re-connecting us to nature. This viaduct was once an unused industrial space in the centre of the city, connecting numerous parts of Manchester City centre. It has now been transformed by @nationaltrust into a beautiful sky garden – a healthy habitat for animals and insects to visit and for people to escape to a little green oasis too 🌱 In partnership with @bbcearth #OurGreenPlanet, join me on a tour around the new space, where I was lucky enough to lay down some plants and learn how this community based project is transforming the urban environment for good. I’m a proud Mancunian right now and can’t wait to get back and enjoy the bridge when it’s finished! If you’re in Manchester please do head down, breathe it in and let me know what you think! #OurGreenPlanet #GenerationGreen #UrbanGreening #Protect #Restore #Plants #Nature #ad In association with Moondance Foundation

The UK is officially one of the world’s MOST nature-depleted countries. We deserve better! An election is coming and it’s our chance to vote for politicians who care. Find out more about Project Climate Vote – link in bio. Promoted by Greenpeace, Canonbury Villas, London N1 2PN
You better Beeleive it 🐝 #worldbeeday 💛 Sadly, our precious pollinators are in serious decline in the UK & have been for years. A major factor in this is the continued use of the pesticide ‘Thiamethoxam’, a highly damaging neonicotinoid. This pesticide was banned in 2018 but our government has approved emergency authorisation for the use of this lethal bee killing pesticide for a 4th year in a row. This harmful chemical can also be found in more than 10% of our rivers. Another empty, hollow commitment from the powers that bee. No surprise at the total lack of protection & appreciation for our beautiful bees & bumble bees and the vital role they play across our ecosystem. We must use our voice to demand the end of using this poison and try do all we can to stop the unnecessary decline of our bee populations, instead helping their numbers to grow and blossom. Please take a moment to sign the two petitions on my story from @thewildlifetrusts & @greenpeaceuk asking to stop the use of these pesticides.
Great Big Green Week is upon us 💚 @theclimatecoalition A beautiful week of people coming together taking action to tackle climate change & showing their appreciation for our natural world. Get involved by working with your school, college or local community to help protect & restore nature. Not forgetting that, crucially, we need politicians & big business to step up and play their part too. There’s so much happening all around the UK, visit greatbiggreenweek.com to get involved ✌🏼
Call of the Wild| S2 Ep 5 People Power with @elliegoulding & Richard Curtis • Arguably our biggest double header to date. Two huge voices in the environmental space join me for this be very special & timely episode. People power. These days I think we all can feel helpless to do anything about the problems we face individually, nationally & at a global level. I know I do. Particularly when it comes to the enormity of the crises facing our planet. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and think there’s nothing I can do but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Although the powers that be would have you think otherwise. With the help of these stellar guests I try answer that question ‘what can I do? How can we influence change in our local communities, nationally and globally? @elliegoulding highlights how we can all play a role in bringing about change & turning the tide on the climate crisis. We also explore her environmental journey. Ellie was open honest durning our conversation, which I really appreciated and made it for a beaut conversation. Did you know that moving your pension to a green, sustainable one is 21x more effective than stopping flying, changing energy provider and becoming vegan? Neither did I. Richard Curtis helps shine a light on this new, powerful movement with the help of @mmmoneymatter_ As well as giving insight into the work he’s doing and how we can influence change. I hope this is a timely reminder that we all have a voice and together there aren’t many stronger forces out there. We absolutely bring about change. Just look to history and you’ll see some of the monumental changes of our time have come from people power. Don’t let the powers that be make you think otherwise. Power to the people ✊🏼 You can hear it for yourself on the link in bio. Enjoy & thank you for listening 💚 #CallOfTheWild with @wwf_uk is out now on all podcast platforms & please don’t forget to subscribe & leave a comment if you’re feeling generous.

Call of the Wild| S2 Episode 6 Identity with @nogalevyrapoport @alfiebowen & Anjali Raman Middleton • Here we are friends, the final episode of Series 2 & what a series it’s been, if I may say so myself. We wrap things up on an incredibly important part of the climate conversation ‘Identity’ & how our sense of identity influences our relationship with nature – including how empowered we feel to bring about positive change for the environment. Helping me explore this conversation are some very exciting, inspiring guests shaking up the environmental space. Dr Karen Bell from the University of Glasgow explains how environmental justice & social justice intersect ; Anjali Raman-Middleton from Choked Up shares why she & other black and brown teens are campaigning for a new Clean Air Act; Noga Levy-Rapoport talks about their experiences of identity & fighting for the planet; and photographer, activist and author, Alfie Bowen, describes how autism gives him a unique view of the world and a creative way to help protect it. As we’re all aware climate change effects everyone, but some a lot more than others and usually it’s those groups who aren’t listened to and don’t have a loud enough voice at the table. This has to change. A massive thank you to my guests for helping making this special episode so informative & thought provoking. I hope you all take something away from it. I also want to express all my love & gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this series on & off mic and helped bring it to life. More so though, to you & anyone who has listened, downloaded, subscribed to my podcast, from the bottom of my heart I really can’t expresss my appreciation enough. I hope you’ve enjoyed this series, learnt some things along the way, felt inspired to take action and feel a bit more hopeful about our future and tackling the climate crisis. Together we can and will bring about the change we, the planet, eco-systems, wildlife, plants, trees and every other organism are desperate to see ✊🏼💚 #CallOfTheWild with @wwf_uk uk is out now on all podcast platforms & please don’t forget to subscribe & leave a comment if you’re feeling generous. Call of the Wild| S2 Episode 4 Tech & Nature with @jaydagmusic & @patrick_aryee I’m biased but this episode is one of the coolest & most fascinating yet. We are in the midst of a tech boom, it’s everywhere, in everything and is a massive part of all our lives. Technology can be one of our greatest ally’s to help us understand the natural world & help turn the tide on the climate crisis. But, due to the energy resource costs when it comes to tech it can also be a double-edged sword for the environment. I explores all the above with the help of Grammy-nominated DJ, Music Producer & Environmental toxicologist Jayda G. Who has to be one of the coolest guests I have had on. What a woman and what a journey she’s been on so far. I bet you didn’t know she was also a top scientist before turning to music? Also helping me is presenter Patrick Aryee who was an absolute joy to sit down with, informative, enlightening, hopeful & inspiring. All I’m going to say is BIO MIMICRY! Get to know, it’s the future! And finally WWF-UK’s Director of Science Mark Wright who is one of the best people I’ve come across in the climate and environment space. Truly one of my favourites. You can hear it for yourself on the link in bio. Enjoy & thank you for listening 💚 #CallOfTheWild with @wwf_uk is out now on all podcast platforms & please don’t forget to subscribe & leave a comment if you’re feeling generous.
