Water towers in New York. I love them. I understand that they are for fire prevention – an old-fashioned solution to getting water on the roof. Don’t know if that’s true or not. but I do love them so much.

In Antequera at 14h00 and nothing was open because it was siesta time but these caught my eye.
Restaurante Tintero in Malaga Este. Sooo good and the waiters hawking the food is stupendous. #tintero
So much of the history of the city is found in its churches. Here in Malaga, the Moorish kingdom was very strong up until the late 15 century when the Christian kings of Spain expelled the Moors. I hate to even use the term Moors because it is so completely inaccurate and is mostly a convenient catch all term which in no way describes the diversity of the Muslim kingdoms. But alas, it is what we have come to use. Many of the Moorish buildings were destroyed and reused to build Spanish churches, while others were simply adapted. Sometimes, the influences are still seen in decorations and other styles.

A little reflection on the day between Good Friday and Easter from an old ex-Catholic. I spent my entire childhood wanting to be a priest and I was quite fervent. Funny to walk in this church on a Saturday and have a lot of those old thoughts come back.
