The investigation into these crimes would go on to be the biggest in Ohio’s history, involving dozens of interviews, Facebook threats, and multiple crime scenes. Hope everyone is having a great start to the week! Detective Perspective is back on audio with a case from the 90’s: a murder not only caught on camera, but committed in the light of day. On the morning of March 10, 1997, Leah Rowlands, a 41-year-old mother of two, worked at the Amoco gas station just off Interstate 80 in Cozad, Nebraska. Before the afternoon arrived, Leah was found shot to death behind the counter. When police reviewed the Amoco’s surveillance footage, they saw that just after 10:30am, a white, barefoot man robbed Leah. After she gave him $150, he ordered her to lie down behind the counter. He then pulled out a gun, leaned over the counter, and shot her three times. After shooting Leah, the killer went back to his car and drove away, never to be seen again. It’s been nearly 27 years since Leah was killed, and investigators are still searching for the person responsible… #truecrime #unsolved #coldcase #truecrimecommunity #podcast #mystery

Episode 27 is now out on audio wherever you get your podcasts! On the morning of May 15th, 2001, Ruby Havard reported her two-year-old son, Wesley Dale Morgan, missing. According to her account, Wesley had been playing outside on the front porch while she went inside to prepare some food. When she returned just five minutes later, Wesley was gone. Authorities immediately launched a widespread search, initially believing Wesley might have wandered into the woods. However, as days passed without any sign of the toddler, authorities began to theorize that he had been sold in an illegal adoption, kidnapped or even murdered. Despite a thorough investigation, no trace of Wesley has ever been discovered. It’s been more than 22 years since Wesley went missing, and investigators are still searching for him. #Truecrime #podcast #truecrimepodcast #truecrimecommunity #unsolved #coldcase

Episode 26 of Detective Perspective is out on audio, and we’re covering a case that’s important to me because of my own history as a police officer. In the early morning hours of May 25, 2013, Jason Ellis, a 33-year-old police officer, finished his shift for the Bardstown Police Department and headed home in his cruiser. During the drive, Jason encountered a pile of limbs blocking the road. He turned on his police lights, parked his car diagonally to block the road, and stepped out to clear the limbs so no one would get hurt. As he bent down to pick up the debris, a gunman shot him multiple times. Jason died at the scene, and was later found by passing motorists. It’s been almost 11 years since Officer Jason Ellis was killed, and investigators are still searching for the people responsible… #Truecrime #truecrimecommunity #unsolved #coldcase #mystery #detectiveperspective
