It’s easy to criticise this one. Go for it if you feel the need. But sometimes I bloody love the fact that this place (Costa Rica) reminds me of a time when Britain was safe and adults let their kids roam without worry, rules or curtain twitchers. Of course I know helmets save lives. If the risk warrants it. But risk itself is also a super important element of a child’s development. And this GoKart was such fun to build and test drive together! I was about the whole time – and it was pretty slow. They were safe. 🥰

But I would have it any other way: there is a freedom in living here that you simply no longer get in many countries. Less rules (legal and social), less stuff, less stress and a tonne more kindness. Tried to do it on 1,500 kcal deficit and then the isolation dinner arrived and I smashed it all in seconds 🤣. Still 1,000 cal def’ so not bad.

We often forget that screen time is just as much of an issue for us as it is our kids. I try to cut down my screen time by locking my phone away in a draw in my office at 5 o’clock.
