Gary Numan Instagram – My Mum died eight years ago today. This rather grainy photo was taken while she was still at school, long before the cancer that eventually took her away first appeared. A time when she had no pain, or fear. A time when she had no need to be ‘strong’ so my brother John and I wouldn’t worry, no need to pretend that she ‘felt fine’. Just a young girl with her life ahead of her, all those hopes and dreams. I love this photograph, and yet it makes me sadder than every other photo of her I have.
