Two years ago today I got to marry my best friend. For as long as I can remember I used to dream about marrying my husband, and what it would feel like to find my forever person. Two years in I can honestly say it is way better than anything I ever dreamed of. I get to wake up every day with my best friend, my practical jokester, my soul mate. If I could be Dad for a second and offer just one thing I’ve learned about love, it’s this: Don’t settle. Be open to love, but don’t settle. Wait until you find that person that it’s so obvious it practically hits you over the head. That person that it is so easy to just exist beside. That person that makes you feel like you can exhale. That person that makes you feel safe to be every part of yourself. That person that you’re excited to see even if you’ve just seen them 5 minutes ago. That person that feels like you’ve known them your whole life, when they show up…lock them down. That’s the one. Growing up gay, so many hateful things got put into my head that really messed up what I thought love was, I thought love was supposed to hurt me…so I let it. Then, my person came along and slowly and carefully fixed all that…he showed me what love is actually supposed to be. It’s uplifting, it’s safe, it’s consistent…it never hurts you, in fact, it heals you. I love you @jonathandbennett, Happy Anniversary my Prince. Thank you for being my one. You finally got to live out your Broadway dream and yes I’m partial, but I think everyone who saw you in the show will agree you were as close to perfect as it gets. Congratulations on an amazing run, with an absolutely stunningly talented cast…you’re one of them now, “Broadway’s Jonathan Bennett” (and no I’m not referring to you as this around the house)…but you’ve earned it. Taking @Carnival Firenze’s Godfather for a ride! Nothing makes me happier than seeing my husband happy and last night’s naming ceremony in Long Beach was definitely that. This is such a full circle moment for me. One of my first professional singing jobs was singing in the production shows on Carnival right out of school, so to now have my husband be Godfather of their newest ship is really special. Can’t wait to take many cruises on this gorgeous ship…after all she is our family now ❤️ #CarnivalFirenze #Firenze
