This year’s @behipgive conference in the Windy City reminded us of the abundance of Corazón y Poder in philanthropy. The time to make investments in organizations that unleash our civic and economic power is now. The grassroots organizations we work with hold the key to getting out the vote, ensuring people are counted in the Census, and helping small business owners grow. We are powerful and when we work together, we can go further and faster as we work to build a multi-racial democracy. Our hearts are full after seeing philanthropic leaders from all over the country uniting to learn from one another, to reconnect, and to celebrate. We’re already looking forward to the next HIP conference in the Land of Enchantment next year! 🏜️

It was a beautiful few days listening, learning, and building connections with our partners in the Northern Central Coast! 🤝 The Latino Community Foundation team spent the day our community partners listening to their hopes and dreams. Together we discussed how philanthropy can support the innovative solutions they are driving!💡 From LCF’s capital campaign investments to our economic justice investments in land trust and land ownership models, we witnessed the power of grassroots leaders. Their love for community is breaking cycles and healing this generation to create a new reality for Latino families.🧑🧑🧒🧒 LCF lives for these days! It was an honor and a privilege to learn from our leaders. We will be back real soon! @santa_cruz_barrios_unidos, @kitchentableadvisors, @albafarmers, @digitalnest, @jobyaviation, @mujeresenaccion831, @cfmco, @sccvonline, @ranchocieloyouth, @youth4alliance

Great to join @theweekendmsnbc this morning with @aliciamenendezxo @symonedsanders @chairman_steele and @mollyjongfast !

Last Thursday, I got to join a dynamic panel discussion alongside Marta Galan Ricardo and Jessica Alvarez on higher education and it’s future at @thealumnisociety Leadership Summit. This years theme was “leadership for a changing world.” It was an incredible opportunity to engage with colleagues, new and old friends, and thought leaders to share insights on the evolving landscape of higher education and other areas in disruption that compel the need for truly inclusive leadership and communities. One of the highlights of the summit was hearing from @juliancastrotx , former Mayor of San Antonio, Secretary of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and candidate for president of the United States of America. He’s now leading the @latinocommfdn and he spoke passionately about his current work mobilizing our community to shape a brighter future. His commitment to fostering leadership and empowering individuals to drive change is inspiring. My friend, the incomparable @eduardoplacer, fearlessly centered the summit as our host and gave us all the poignant reminder that “tanto sabes, tanto vales.” Thank you, Pedro Antonio Guerrero, Vianni Lubus, Jill Ortiz, and the entire team for organizing such a wonderful convening on leadership that platformed established and emerging leaders that give us hope tor a future that is worthy of generational sacrifice and struggle. #leadership #community #missiondriven

United, we will rise! LCF celebrates the grassroots leaders and activists who are moving us closer toward our nation’s promise of equality, freedom, and justice this Juneteenth. We will continue to be guided by our shared vision to build the multi-racial democracy our families deserve.
