Kent Monkman Instagram – To celebrate National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month, the Studio is doing a giveaway!
Kent created Miss Chief’s Fanny Flags as a tribute to queer history and the practice of flagging. The editioned set includes four colourful bandanas printed with an intricate array of beavers, Miss Chief’s “praying hands,” and beadwork-inspired woodland patterns on cotton made on Turtle Island. Inspired by the creativity and resilience of Two-Spirit and queer communities, Miss Chief’s Fanny Flags make a flashy accent for any ensemble from top to bottom.
