“i used to dream of writing a novel. My hands would start shaking whenever I smelled a novel while writing stories. Is it a novel? I would ask my story over and over. But the story was never keen on becoming a novel. It would look back at me as if I just committed a crime by asking. Overlooking the story, I would start following the scent of the novel instead. I wanted to get to that part of the story where the scent of the novel dribbled from as soon as possible. Like sometimes while walking on a deserted road, you suddenly smell the night queen, you feel a feeble urge to see the night queen just once. I just wanted to hug the night queen once and tell her the stories about my getting spent while awaiting a novel. Perhaps, the mistake I ended up making was to have the illusion that I would eventually reach the novel one day while chasing the scent of the novel in the story. I just kept sauntering the empty roads of the story. But I never came across the tree of the night queen. After a while, the smell of the novel was not there anymore and in their anger, the stories sat on strike where they were. I don’t know how many such stories have been sacrificed like this in the pursuit of the scent of a novel. For a long time, I believed that my impetuousness was the main reason I couldn’t write a novel so far. That’s why I wanted to grow old quickly. After some time, it was hard to decide what I was really waiting for, writing a novel or getting old.”
