As a @rescueorg Ambassador, I am asking you to consider helping families in Gaza facing starvation, dehydration, loss of parents, loss of children… please read my letter and donate to the fundraiser at the link in my bio. The IRC and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) are delivering surgical care, providing nearly 10% of all surgeries in Gaza. They are working hand in hand with the few hospitals that remain in Gaza. Because of their dedication, persistence and experience, people are surviving this nightmare. But so many more people need help. I’m heartbroken. No one should ever have to suffer through what Palestinian families in Gaza are continuing to experience due to Israeli bombardment and blockade, or what Israeli families who are victims of the Hamas attack are also going through. Israeli families need the hostages to come home and be reunited with their loved ones. Palestinian families need a ceasefire and humanitarian aid to start pouring in so more lives can be saved, not taken away. Thanks for taking a moment here and for considering donating to the IRC. We have been working with them and supporting them for years and deeply believe in the work they are doing.

Repost from @rescueorg • Following Israel’s bombardment of Rafah this week, Palestinians have nowhere safe left to go. Over 2 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance across Gaza—yet this latest escalation means further disruptions to already highly restricted aid flow. Palestinians are living under relentless fear, anxiety, and stress, and lacking food, water and health care. We’re calling for an immediate ceasefire.
How is this a thing?

Our country may forget this history, but I cannot.” – Viola “Mother” Fletcher, oldest known survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. We will never forget this history, Mother Fletcher. On its 103rd anniversary, we honor the lives of the #TulsaRaceMassacre victims and the legacy of The Greenwood District — a community that exemplified the power of Black excellence, Black success, and Black freedom.

Kathryn and I are thrilled to join @evercuriousman as EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS! We admire @ivan___cash’s push to share this deeply personal story in this format. He’s turned this portrait of an artist into so much more; a captivating tableau of success and disappointment — resentment and reconciliation. We think this is gonna be a truly powerful piece and can’t wait to see it in its final form. Ivan says “This documentary gets at the collective existential crisis that one person can spur. By exploring and even culling my father’s art work, we’ve grappled with the weight behind the question, ‘What gets left behind?” Check out Sydney Cash’s work @_sydney_cash_
Repost from @rescueorg “In different circumstances it could be any of us. We all have the power to help our brothers and sisters in need.” Actor and IRC Ambassador Adjoa Andoh – who stars in @BridgertonNetflix as Lady Danbury – joined an IRC team providing emergency support to refugees living in Trieste. This is what she saw: “Trieste has a long history of welcoming displaced people, as a major entry point for refugees arriving into Italy. Yet today, many face challenges accessing housing and essential services in the city,” she said. “The silos are two abandoned stone warehouses next to the central railway station, where a distressing number of people – including unaccompanied children – are sheltering in cold, damp and unsanitary conditions.” “The IRC’s work shows how people seeking refuge can heal from their trauma, regain control over their futures, and unlock their potential to enrich our communities.” #Bridgerton #LadyDanbury #Netflix
