You are what you decide you are. You don’t have to fit into any preconceived notion about your blackness from those that could never understand your journey nor those that project that they do because they share your culture. You don’t have to meet the standards a society who’s architects did not include you in the plan and you do not have to meet the expectations of those that believe they know what to do about that. (Read that again). Lived experience is not interchangeable. Don’t feel outcasted from your culture because you aren’t allured by things that are considered cool.
