This is Marcia Dyson @marcia_l_dyson taking over Michael’s space to wish my husband a blessed Happy Birthday. He has given most of his life writing, preaching, lecturing and advocating for not only the equality of black folks lives but our quality as well. This wordsmith is worthy of these few words from our family and the community he serves, “We Love You”. 🎂🎁🎊🙏🏽
For those who criticize Black women (as candidates for the Supreme Court, but really far beyond that) who choose white life partners, a few words from my sermon this morning “A Stranger In Your House,” at @friendshipwest pastored by the great @fhunscripted
“They call me Mr. Tibbs!” #RipSidneyPoitier🙏🏽
Love you Mr. Belafonte. ❤️😢👊🏾🙏🏽
.@MichaelEDyson: “These young men… before their episode in the statehouse were relatively unknown… Now they’re globally-recognized avatars of a fight against anti-democracy.” #TheReidOut
Happy 85th birthday to my amazing and incredible mother #AddieMaeDyson! Had to fly in and surprise her on her special day. Thanks to Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan (@mayormikeduggan ) and LT. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II (@ltgovgilchrist )and Governor Gretchen Whitmer (@gewhitmer ) for offering wonderful proclamations on Mom’s special day. She survived the brutal lash of Jim Crow, the devious backhand of gender oppression and virulent racism to shine bright as a beacon of high intelligence and deep literacy. Love you Mama! (And thanks to my gifted and wonderful niece Charmaine (@cinco.de.maino ) for pulling it all together!

From The Word.
My Detroit homeboy @edlgordon and I both agree that Her Honor Jackson is a great nominee for Supreme Court. Call your senator’s office and let them know you support Judge Brown Jackson. Let’s make sure justice will be done with her confirmation. 👇🏾 Repost from @edlgordon • Her appointment is crucial! Appointments to the Supreme Court more often than not have more impact (generationally) than the election of a President. We need to mobilize and make sure her nomination is not held up or detailed. She is more than qualified for the position. Call you senator’s office and voice your support-there should be pressure from voters to “get this right”-This appointment is vitally important.
The great @iamtabithabrown blessed us in Nashville tonight at Vanderbilt University @vanderbiltu with her unique brand of effervescence and her enthusiastic embrace of her Blackness and humanity. On a day when we endured the latest tragedy of gun violence and mass killing, she brought huge sunshine and contagious hope to our suffering city. We thank you for being a gift from God!💕🙏🏽
For real!
It’s a pleasure to be with the brilliant author Jon Meacham & the vivacious Speaker of the House (before she was found to have Covid). The dinner conversation was off the chart with them and other esteemed guests.
Happy heavenly birthday to my little brother Everett Dyson-Bey. Think about you everyday. Miss our conversations. Miss your humor, insight and wisdom. Miss your love and support. Miss your moral tenacity and your love for your family. Just miss being in your presence. Love you💔
My essay for the New York Times @nytopinion on Archbishop Tutu and the politics of forgiveness. What a great man with an enduring legacy for social justice.

The complete article is in my bio link. Posted @withregram • @rollingout Michael Eric Dyson is one of a kind. A teacher, doctor of philosophy, father, philanthropist, radio host and prolific writer of 24 books and counting, he is the facilitator and conduit of a Black America starving for knowledge, wisdom and love. More than capable of providing the tools to nurture the minds of Black America, he’s done so on an as-needed basis, which seems to occur more often than not.

I was honored to know this iconic figure, who invited me to preach for him when he pastored in Los Angeles. This is from a conversation we had for Black History Month in 2020. #RIPJimLawson

What is behind the surprising levels of Black support for (now felon) Donald J. Trump? According to bestselling author, public intellectual and “hip hop” professor Michael Eric Dyson, it’s the result of a slew of misconceptions, as well as folks not understanding how government actually works in our lives. “It’s an indictment of our side,” Dyson said. On this episode, Dyson and our hosts former Atlanta Mayor @kasimreed, former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Citizen Co-founder Larry Platt have a few words of advice for President Biden on how to really beat Donald Trump.
