Osher Günsberg Instagram – @audreygriffen and I used to lie in bed every night and read stories with G.
It was absolutely wonderful to be all snuggly with those two, taking turns at reading the pages.

Then one night when she was about 12 I asked “what book do you want to read with us tonight GG?” and she replied “I’m ok without a story tonight, thank you”.
And that was it.
We had not realised that the night before had been the last night we ever read stories to her.

I was working with @stavb105 at the time and he told me “one day I will put down my 4yr old daughter after carrying her and I won’t have realised it’s the last time I ever got the chance to do that – so every time I do get the chance, I treat it like it’s the last time I do it”.

It was Stav who got me onto the concept known as “The Last time”.

When you consider the absolute possibility – even though that possibility may be very remote – that something you do today could be the last time you ever do it, that thing becomes ever more precious.

Today’s episode expands on this, and if you’re willing – I even walk through a few of the more difficult things to consider.

Not to be grim or morbid, but as a way to enjoy and even relish in the small moments that lined up end to end become this one short life we have.
