Super quick doorway transformation using bamboo ⚡️ And took only 3 hours! Info in caption. This old doorway / opening between kitchen and dining room has us scratching our heads. On one side, it still had the metal angle bead visible after plastering, and on the other… ripped wallpaper. What to do?! 🤷🏼♂️ We used lots of natural materials in the kitchen, cork floor, cute wooden doorknobs on the units and oak worktops, so wanted something similar to transition between both rooms. We could have used wooden beading strips, tongue and groove wood panels or even slat panels (acoustic board). I found this bamboo Polewrap from @diyherway to be the best option as it’s flexible, great for wonky old walls and wraps around corners! (Thanks Emma @livemylifeincolour for introducing me to it!) PROCESS – Measure the wall. – I cut the Polewrap vertically with a Stanley blade as it sits on a felt backing – It cuts horizontally using a jigsaw or circular saw. – I used heavy duty DIY glue to attach it, and voila! Textured paint transformed this room! ✨ You never know what hides behind wallpaper, more often than not it’s a horrible finish that’s not suitable for repainting! But instead of re plastering, we found textured paint gave us the finish we were after in the dining room. With these sunnier days Deborah the giant glitter ball on a winch is pure joy 🥰 ✨ She also still loves to be cranked down into the spotlight of an evening… don’t we all?! 😂 🪩 She brings sparkle to our Drinkette Loungette every day. We limit Deborah’s time in strong sunshine – believe it or not… glitter balls & disco balls can actually cause fires if put near flammable objects in strong sunshine.
