Let’s also remember the important lessons Prince taught us about artistic freedom. Enslavement on any level reduces humanity. Artists are humans with the gift of creativity. On this day in 1984, Prince released his record-breaking sixth studio album Purple Rain. To mark the 40th anniversary, Prince’s 2015 @officialpaisleypark Remaster is now available via NPG Records on 140g Purple Splatter vinyl. This special limited edition of the LP includes a mirrorboard sleeve, in addition to the original inner sleeve and poster. This exclusive pressing will be available only through the Prince Store and Minneapolis’s own Electric Fetus record store. Pre-orders start today, and the product will be ready by August 9th, 2024! Day 4 of #PRINCECELEBRATION2024 was held at @officialpaisleypark, and started with a discussion with @tajfarrant, as well as great performances from @darnelldavismusic & Remnant, and Collide Worship. Dr. Susan Rogers spoke, engaged in a fan Q&A, and there were additional performances by School Of Rock Eden Prairie, @tajfarrant, @bertorich, and Nic Church. Today we started the day at Lake Minnetonka and will end at Paisley Park for more live music!

We honored Dr. Susan Rogers with the Prince Legacy award, and concluded the night with performances by Taj Farrant, Morris Day and NPG. Day 1 of Celebration 2024 is in the books, it was a kickoff DJ dance party, exclusive unreleased vault material listening sessions, and lunch catered by the People’s Organic at @officialpaisleypark! 💜 See you at Day 2, for a showing of the Purple Rain movie, a conversation with Billy (Billy Sparks; the club owner in the movie Purple Rain) our panel with The Revolution, then at night, The Revolution concert, and DJ Dance Party!

The night ended at First Avenue where The Revolution played an amazing show. 💜 Today’s events include even more rare concert footage and guest panels, a block party at the Prince mural, and performances from Taj Farrant, NPG, and Morris Day at State Theater!

The final day of #PRINCECELEBRATION2024 started at the historic Lake Minnetonka with a series of VIP boat cruises! The boat rides made for a relaxing start to the morning before we headed back to @officialpaisleypark for more live music headlined by Liv Warfield with Sonny T, Mike Scott and Brandon Commodore, to wrap up Celebration! 🚢 🎶 This year’s Celebration was a great success and we want to give a huge thank you to everyone who joined us to Celebrate Prince and the 40th Anniversary of Purple Rain.
