হরি গুরু গুরু হরি! Extremely happy to present the motion poster of our dream project #Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan, my Bengali directorial venture featuring Rukmini Maitra as Binodini Dasi. It’s been more than two years journey, several road blocks but finally we are here with our most ambitious motion feature in Bengali. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without Rukmini, who trusted me with my narrative and vision. I am thankful to my producers Shhailendra Kkumar Suraj Sharma Prateek Chakravorty and Dev Adhikari for showing trust in us. It all started with Sarbani Mukherjee and Aritra Das who believed that we can make this possible. Of course the oldest member in our team was Abhra Chakraborty who worked on research and Ekta Bhattacharjee who created magic with motion and still poster of the film. Priyanka Poddaar who penned the story screenplay and dialogues so beautifully. My favourite Modhura Palit who worked with me in almost five Hindi films will join me once again as cinematographer. Young and talented Nilayan Chatterjee who created this magic background score. Good old memory… This was clicked by my friend and celebrity photographer 📸 Vickky Idnaani in 2003 at his studio while I was working as a reporter with Stardust film magazine. This was a casual impromptu click, not expecting that after three years, this image would be used for my Sunday column Ram Katha, which was a part of Times of India’s most popular tabloid Mumbai Mirror. This image got imprinted in the minds of readers. Almost after two decades, the hard copy popped up from my diary, which Vickky had printed and gifted me. স্নেহের ঋতু দা, কেমন আছো? চলে যায় তারা, যারা কোনও কিছু ছেড়ে যেতে পারে না। তুমি রেখে গেছো, মেঘলা আকাশ, অযৌন প্রেম, সংলাপের আড়ালে সমাজ দর্শন, সম্পর্কের বিশ্বাস, সাহিত্যের প্রতি নির্ভরশীল মনন, সূক্ষ্ম দৃষ্টি…আরও কত কি! আর একটু একটু করে রেখে গেছো, ব্যক্তিগত সম্পর্কের গন্ধ, যার রেশ এখনও কারুর লেখায়, কারুর বলায়, কারুর চলায় থেকে গেছে। নিজে সাজতে ভালবাসতে, তাই মৃত্যুটাও বেশ ছিমছাম ছিল তোমার। কাজল পড়তে খুব ভালবাসতে। মুম্বই এর সমুদ্রের ধারে, Mumbai Mirror পত্রিকার জন্যে একটা ফটো শুট করবার আগে, আমাকে বললে, “এই আমার রোদ চশমাটা পর দেখি,” আর নিজের sling ব্যাগ থেকে একটা কাজল পেন্সিল বের করে ওই চশমার reflection এ, কি সুন্দর হালকা একটা কালো রেখা এঁকে নিলে তুমি। ঢেউ গুলো আছড়ে পড়ছে, ঠিক যেনো প্রচুর দর্শকদের করতালি তোমার সেজে ওটার আনন্দে আনন্দিত! মুম্বই তখনও প্রগতিশীল শহর নয়, office ফেরত পুরুষরা তোমার দিকে তাকিয়ে মুচকি হেসে চলে যাচ্ছিল! “ওদের দেখিস না, ওরা ছিল, ওরা থাকবে, আমি আলাদা, আমি থাকব না!” ফোকাস। তুমি নেই, সেটা আর যেই হোক না কেন, আমি কোনও দিনই মেনে নেব না! ওহ! তোমাকে বলা হয়নি, আমিও একটা ‘বিনোদিনী’ বানিয়েছি, আশালতার শৈ না গো, সে গিরিশ এর ছাত্রী। তোমাকে দেখাব একদিন। ভালো থেকো… আদর. 💙🧿
