😭 Today we lost my childhood hero. I was very fortunate enough at a young age to be able to grow up in the Parnelli Jones Shop in Torrance Ca. It was know as American Racing Equipment/ Vels Parnelli Jones Racing. When I was about five or six years old, there were Motorsport icons that worked there, Walker, Evans, John Bernard, Art Hale, Dick, Russell, and so so many talented people, PJ, and myself would run around the shop as wild Indians and get yelled at all the time by Dick Russel (I still have the scar that will always be there on my left middle finger from playing with the diegrinder at your shop natural TATOO scar that I hid from my parents as I was scared they would let me go back to the shop) So many good stories 🤪 Parnelli thank you for all the Vision, Excitement, and dedication to motorsport that you showed us all. You were the one that showed me that I don’t have to just do ONE form of Motorsport you raced in everything that had a steering wheel and Kicked Ass on and off the track. Parnelli raced in Off-Road, Sprint cars at Ascot where he took me for a ride in the Blazer and raced Indycars, Drag Racing with the Flying Hawian Team and NASCAR you will always be my hero. Today is going to be one of the hardest days of my life. The memories with this guy was amazing and I’m still in shock he’s gone I’m 😭 writing this. See you guys today and let’s celebrate this amazing person and our great times together RIP to one my best friends and one of the greatest car builders ever…… your skills and desire for perfection will be remembered forever.
