The album was produced with many diverse guest musicians, including Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Robbie Robertson (The Band), Robert Wyatt (Soft Machine), Youssou N’Dour, Arto Lindsay, etc. Beauty is notable for its “collage of styles” that range from rock, techno, and classical to African; about half of the songs on the album are cover songs, including two Okinawan folk songs, the Rolling Stones’ “We Love You,” Foster’s “Romance,” and today’s dig, Samuel Barber’s “Adagio.” Before the term “Globalization” came into general use, Sakamoto proposed the term “Outer-National” as a counter-concept to “Inter-National” for the album motif. The work evokes an image of a new individual, a new way of being, where individuals connect beyond nations and nationalities. (Lack Of Love)” (2000). The game was released on November 2, 2000, in Japan. It is the only video game Ryuichi was involved in creatively in addition to composing the music. Together with game director Kenichi Nishi, they set out to make a game with a simple theme, helping others. “We should care for other people, life, the environment and nature” said Nishi (in an interview with gamestm.uk). The Fortress is an epic historical drama film directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, starring Lee Byung-hun and Kim Yoon-seok, based on the novel Namhansanseong by Kim Hoon. The film is set during the Qing invasion of Joseon in 1636, when King Injo and his retainers sought refuge in the fortress located in Namhansanseong. Ryuichi’s original score received several nominations and won Best Music at the 37th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards and the 55th Daejong Film Awards. “…For me, Today’s Korean Cinema has its own unique strength. Being my first score for a Korean film, I wanted to express my respect and friendship for the Korean people and their culture. I spent a lot of time studying traditional Korean music and experimenting with ways to integrate those sounds alongside modern composing and sound design techniques. I am very proud of myself and the team’s result to achieve this shared vision. As you know the subject matter of this film is not easy. Ryuichi Sakamoto “12” T-shirts March edition On the 28th of every month, commmons will start accepting orders for “12” T-shirts. The “RS” logo will be quietly printed near the heart on the inner front side. Ryuichi Sakamoto’s name and the month number will be printed on the inner back side of the T-shirt. The T-shirt will also display a large print of Sakamoto, selected from Sakamoto’s archive. Due to the large number of overseas orders, we will split the order start time into two slots to accommodate time differences. Orders for the March edition will begin on March 28th. Order acceptance open: ① March 28th (Thursday) 12:00~ (JST) ② March 28th (Thursday) 24:00~ (JST) *To better accommodate time differences, we have set a limit on the number of orders accepted per session.
