For the five people interested. Man’s got a good eye and it’s a comics question so I’ll answer. I write down what I want the show vibe to be on my right wrist before each show because I see it a lot while holding the mic. I tend to think of comedy shows as a particular temperature combined with a type of movement. Sometimes it’s ‘flight’ which means go harder as the show progresses, sometimes it’s ‘dig’ which means try a bunch of new stuff and go off on any thought tangent that hits me. Yesterday I wanted Melbourne to feel like we were floating. Just easy and not be conscious of chapters in the show, for it to appear seamless. BWD stays constant on the left wrist and stands for Be Watsons Dad. A reminder to be humble, and simple. When our dog was alive it was a reminder that he was waiting at home, no matter where I was in the world, a reminder of what was important. He passed, I’d done it for ten years, I kept doing it. I do this before every show and it keeps every show different for the audience and me. That’s all folks.
