Alexandra Johnson Instagram – VAIL. A major breakthrough. Until this past weekend, I’ve been so afraid; unable to commit to risk or coordination moves, and unwilling to climb above a certain height.
I wrote myself off and counted myself out before I even got to Vail, knowing everything would be taller and harder and scarier than anything I’d done in over a year. The fear of having to go through the last year of my life again is almost crippling on a daily basis.
My first time falling from the top of the wall, I stood up and realized everything was fine. And then I boldly threw myself at tops for the next three hours.
Maybe it’s the worst I’ve ever placed in a bouldering event in my life, but I overcame so much to be here, and to try hard. It’s the bravest I’ve ever been and I’m so proud of that.
Now I know I can again, and it’s game on from here. 🖤
