So.. this is new for me to discuss this but I am dealing with some pretty bad anxiety today. I actually made a short video about it but I don’t have the balls to post it. I have been trying to talk my way out of it – I know I am so blessed and I really truly am grateful for all the love I have in my life and the incredible people I am lucky enough to know and known. The places I have gotten to see. But sometimes chemical or ‘learned’ anxiety raises its head literally out of nowhere and catastrophizing ensues. And I don’t know if anybody else can relate to this, but my reaction to anxiety is to procrastinate. I mean, that’s SO DUMB! The blatantly obvious thing to do would be to take some sort of action. Move. Stretch. Tidy a room. Go for a walk. Organize my closets which look like thrift store bargain bins and give me anxiety every time I look at them. But it doesn’t work like that. I’m normally a pretty active person but when anxiety strikes I go into complete ‘freeze’ mode. Which just feeds the cycle. Before all this ( bar all four of my driving tests and auditions for roles I’m totally unsuitable for) I don’t think I really felt much fear. Certainly not inexplicable anxiety. But then I had my kids and everything changed. It started even before Ella was born. I spent so much time worrying I would lose the baby – but I figured it was just hormones and you know – it’s what we’re programmed to do when we have babies. Keep them safe! But it never went away. I had my first major panic attack in 2013 when I was pregnant with Elsie. I was at an event and the paramedics were called. I thought I was having a heart attack. I have spoken to many, many other people who struggle with this – some way worse than me. I wanted to draw attention to it because I was SO oblivious until it happened to me and I don’t think I listened enough. I just wanted to reach out to any of you who suffer, and tell you all I get it. I really do. It’s real. ❤️❤️❤️ PS: in my defense I took 4 driving tests in 2 separate countries and 12 years apart so technically only failed twice – once in each! 🫣😂

I just got a call from the school nurse telling me that little one had fallen ill at school today. ( pic not from today, obvs, from last weeks fashion show as per the poster😊) It’s one of the tougher things about being a single mother with no immediate family living nearby and no childcare. You want to drop everything. But it’s not always possible. I know how many people understand this. And how many have jobs that don’t allow them the luxury that I have had today – to rush to the school, pick her up and tuck her up in bed for the day with hot chocolate ( first request) and ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’. ( her current obsession) And there have been days for me where this wasn’t possible either. And it will be less possible as I start to go back to work. So I cherish this day, even though I hate to see her sick, and remember I am lucky to have it. Shout out to single parents to everywhere. Scratch that, shout out to ANY parents anywhere struggling to do what they can for their kiddos! It’s not always easy! 🩵🩵🩵

This so sad. Bernard didn’t just light up a room, he was the room. Rarely have I met someone so vibrant, so spirited, so vivacious. He could talk to you about literally any subject that came up and attach uproarious anecdotes to illustrate. He had such fierce opinions and was so passionate about expressing them. Some people are just so… alive that it’s hard to imagine them being gone. I worked with Bernard on a rather ill-fated movie back in 2006 in Luxembourg. So much went wrong on that project that we spent most of our time waiting around to find out if we would be filming the next day or if the project had finally collapsed. I have such good memories from that time and Bernard you were a big part of it. Likewise @officialalisonking, @boydbilly, @garethellisunwin, @lukemably, Eva Birthistle, Tim McInnerny. I feel so desperately sad for his wife and child. For his close friends and loved ones. I’m sure they do, but I hope they know how much fun and love and beautiful memories he brought into to the universe of those he touched along his journey through life. #ripbernardhill #ripbernard

Never have I ever seen anyone so excited for a field trip. She’s not sure exactly where she’s going, but she’s excited about the TOPIC! ‘But Mummy, it’s a GOLD RUSH place! We’re learning all about it in class!’ Hard to believe she’s my daughter. When I went on field trips the only exciting thing was where you got to sit on the bus (the back, obvs) and next to whom… 😳😂

End of my baby’s long day! Special thank you to the AMAZING stand-up comedian and skateboard coach George Wang. George – I’m not going to @ you because my trolls are vindictive and foul and I don’t want them targeting you too. Bit you have brightened Elsie’s Thursday evenings for over a year now and changed her life. 🙏🏻 And, for those paying really close attention today she found (fake!) gold, made her own candle and turned milk into butter! My kids used to plan this little piece of theater every time they wanted something. And it never failed to work on me. (I mean LOOK how cute they are!) This time it was pizza but it could be anything. This is how they got the dog! They still do it sometimes! 😂(And it still works…😍)
