Alison Sudol Instagram – A year ago, heavily pregnant, I sat by a fire and listened to beautiful folk songs, learned stories of the land and the birds that sang there. I walked, somehow sure footed even with my brimming belly, through darkness in a line of people in silence. I felt held by the night and the land. I laid on the grass and listened to the duet of nature and musician in awe… then Nemonte Nenquimo and Silvana Nihua sang, their voices humming like bees, fizzing in my bones and it was like a dream (except with a bit of pregnancy sacroiliac pain just to keep me earthbound enough). I wanted to sing in that space with my whole body. I asked if I could. And now, Sunday, I will be, thanks to @samleesong (and @jessicasweidan my dear one🌻) so grateful to be invited to be a part of this stunning tradition. First time singing back in the world since giving birth. What a gift to do it by the fire, with the birds, under the flower moon. Thank you so much @nestfolk for having me. What an honor x
