So many worlds colliding. Musical theater, drag, the @dresdendolls, my kid, fan art, and circular thank you notes.
This is 1) me and @thejinkx holding my son Ash’s first fan art, and what an unbelievable full circle moment. Jinkx is a longtime @dresdendolls fan (she was in the old school brigade as a baby theater geek teen in Portland) who exploded to stardom and won Rupaul’s drag race…twice.
History just collided when Jinkx played a role in a recent Dr. Who episode as a non-binary evil music-eating monster called “THE MAESTRO” – 3 and 4, can we talk about the LOOK HERE PEOPLE ♥️♥️♥️ – and Ash was smitten and made…his first fan art. Luckily Jinkx was nearby playing Audrey in an off-broadway run of “Little Shop of Horrors”, so we got to see the show and deliver the art IN PERSON….(plus special treat @jimmycarp as the sadistic dentist, shown here in slide 2, he was BRILLLIANT in the role goddamn). I wept real tears when Jinks sang “Somewhere That’s Green”, and Ash got to deliver his Maestro fan art. I got to have a really good long sushi sitdown with Jinkx and talk about life and art and stage and work and power. I think we have found our people. Does life get better than this?
Well, there’s always the rub. Jinks posted this photo to her feed and I was reminded that there are a ton of people out there who have encountered me only via TikTok memes who think I’m a terrible person. Whatever, people. I am so much bigger on the inside.
I love this life, these circles, this explosion.
Jinkx is heading to reprise her role as Mama Morton in CHICAGO on Broadway in a few days…head that way, please, and cheer extra fucking loud.
Saying thank you is important. In every direction. Jinkx put us on the list for the show and the final slide is Ash’s thank you note after seeing Jinkx’s show.
Three words. You. Did. Great.
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH, fellow theater queers. I see you all and love you. Don’t let the bastards get you down. And give Jinkx a follow. She’s putting the art first and this is a performer of total integrity to follow alllll the way.

Boston, I gotta talk to you. Sometimes I actually take a look at my social media demographics and I am INTRIGUED.
Population of NYC, ok ok ok fine. It’s like 6728718727812781 people.
But, the population of Melbourne is only 5,316,000.
The population of BOSTON is 4,344,000.
Boston – MY HOME TOWN – doesn’t even make the cut on this list. It’s after LOS ANGELES. For SHAME!!!!
What do I gotta do?
Say wikkid pissah?
Go sox?
Go PATS?
WHERE ARE MY BOSTON PEOPLE?
Doooooooood.
Saaahhhhhhhkkkkks!!!
Wikkkkiiiiiiiiid!!!!!!
Ok the end.
Ps I used the “Los Angeles” Instagram filter on this post just to show you how confused I am

Liz Grammaticas appreciation thread. This woman fell back into my life like a star from a perfect planet a couple years ago and I stopped can’t believe my luck. We ran into one another at a friend’s engagement party in Brooklyn, found out we were in the same neighborhood (ish…upstate 40 minutes of driving means….neighborly) and lo and behold, I needed sometime to help run a venue. History ensued. We are closing the venue, but the love is still flooding us all.
She doesn’t know I was taking this picture as she strode around the cemetery across the street on the final day of our little venue, @gravesidevariety, looking for the two side-by-side headstones that you can see in slide two (they were finally found), but I don’t think she’d mind.
Liz, thank you for everything you’ve done for me, this venue, these people, these artists, these kids, these divorcing women, these grieving souls, these lost souls, this town, this constellation of hearts. You’re a wonderful connecting thread of this universe and may you stitch on forever, using whatever method (love, cookies, Taylor Swift art, whatever) suits your fancy. Wander on. Find the perfect matches.
Happy Happy Joy Joy.
Love, Amanda ♥️🪦🎪♥️🪦🎉
