Tonight we are ‘out out’! Some ‘before we left the house’ pictures taken by @makeupcouk who is wholly responsible for making me look so glam. Thank you to @boodles for the jewellery tonight.
Very impressed by Mr F in a dickie bow. 🥰

4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work:
1. Had a great catch up with @simonalexandero and @iamlauriewang in London. I loved the neon sign – and as someone who has recently moved back to the Big Smoke, it certainly felt apt!
2. Mum and I went out to lunch while Nick and Dad went to watch grown men chase little white balls around at Wentworth. It’s become a bit of an annual traction now for us all, and it’s lovely to have the excuse to go out, just the two of us.
3. Got up early on Saturday morning and took @teddymcfeen for a dog walk with Nick and @james_stew and little Milo.
4. We headed up to Leeds to support Nik and Eva @thespeakmans and their wonderful charity @traumaresearchuk helping people recover from the symptoms of trauma, panic, PTSD and anxiety. My gorgeous dress was #gifted to me by Leeds designer Rebecca Rhoades @rhoadesfashion I felt very glam – loved it!
A very sociable week – what have you been up to?

4 things I did last week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work:
I am a day late doing this – it’s been a busy one!
Last week was quite something, so many lovely things to get me out of the house and doing something different – something I appreciate so much more these days.
1. Mr F and I went to the @how.to.academy to hear a talk by hostage negotiator @scottwalkerbooks Wow. I thought I had pretty good diplomacy skills, but he was incredible! (So interesting to hear that his kids can still run rings round him though 😅)
2. We went to The Sun’s ‘Who Cares Wins Awards’. What night. We met so many wonderful people, and I was thrilled that I was by chance seated next to a woman who is literally listed in the notes section of my phone as an incredible human that I would love to meet. Her name is Sarah July de Lagarde, and she sadly came to public prominence after a horrific accident falling from a tube platform last year left her a double amputee. I was so inspired baby her mindset, and her attitude to this life-altering event, that I vowed to meet her. And I did! She is an amazing woman, with a beautiful spirit, I liked her enormously. I also realised that I stupidly didn’t ask for a photo – next time! @sjdelagarde
3. I have been slowly, slowly, focusing on getting well and building up my strength over the past five months. I went back to the gym six weeks ago, and have been working on my own, at my own pace, and incrementally I have started to feel and see a change. I feel good! Nick took this video of me, and I was shocked by how strong I look. It’s a nice feeling, like I am coming back again. 💪
4. We reunited with our amazing @thebodycampofficial friends in Hyde Park at the weekend, to support @bryonygordon @mentalhealthmates It was soooooooo good to see everyone, and walk in the Autumn sunshine. It’s obvious why walking and talking is good for the head and great for the soul. Loved it.

What does the word formidable mean to you? To some it might mean a Miss Trunchbull level of overbearing, to others it may simply mean being a confident woman. In this week’s conversation, Sarah Pittendrigh explains how she helps women over 40 find the confidence they need to be whatever level of ‘formidable’ that works for them.
Sarah’s experience in finding inner confidence is hard-won. She has personally and professionally overcome challenges that would make anyone buckle; cancer (twice), bankruptcy after the collapse of her multi-million-pound business during the 2008 crash which left her as a single parent living on income support, and divorce then re-marriage to her husband. Now back on her feet and running a thriving business, Sarah also devotes much of her time to coaching successful CEOs and entrepreneurs in how to find their formidable side. Funny, down-to-earth and bursting with no-nonsense kindness, Sarah is formidable in the best possible way.
In our conversation we cover:
💪 How people say they want success because it brings them freedom. But what they really want is to feel safe.
💪 How the cliché is true: our most valuable life lessons come through the knocks we get.
💪 How to get over our fear of being judged.
💪 How looking for success to prove someone wrong is not the best long-term motivator.
💪 How to look after your energy, because that’s the base level for every single thing you do in life.
And so much more!

Someone has had a makeover… ✂️ 🐶🐶🐶🐶 #lookatme
OMG I’ve just come across this photo by @sperryphotography taken for Loaded magazine back in the 90s. I was 29. My main memory of that day was being off-the-scale nervous, and then FREEZING COLD. The pics were taken in winter, and this photo involved me standing in a paddling pool in the middle of the studio, being sprayed with water from a hose, by an assistant perched on a step ladder. Now I’ve finally warmed up I can see it was all worth it… 😅 A great photo. #throwback

#flashbackfriday This time last week at The Rebuilding Beautiful Retreat, doing what I love… sharing stories, exchanging experiences, leading with warmth and compassion. It was as a wonderful few days, thank you @tessyojo for inviting me to be part of it.
We all know someone who is slow to put their hand in their pocket. But to actually CHEAT your friends (and the waiter) out of money and think that’s OK? That’s a whole other level of being a tightwad. I can’t BELIEVE what I’m hearing when Nick spills the beans on someone’s shocking behaviour… 😱

4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work.
I’m aware that I haven’t done my #4things for a while, so I thought I’d start again today. It’s made me realise that my work / fun balance is way out of kilter in terms of what is deemed ‘instagramable’, but I like being cosy at home watching telly when it’s cold outside! I figure if it makes me happy it all counts.
1. So, I did do one fancy thing this week – we went to the screening of ‘Mean Girls’ as a family, and it was great! The film was just brilliant, I loved it. And the party side of the event was so good, the girls loved it, and I enjoyed watching them love it.
2. We watched Saltburn last night. Oh. My. Goodness. Watch it IMMEDIATELY!! It is just so good, every single person is excellent, it’s been brilliantly cast, it’s tight, pacy, gripping, beautiful to watch, has you on the edge of your seat until the final, fabulous scene. @keoghan92 (Barry Keoghan) is spectacular.
3. This week I INHALED ‘Fool Me Once’ the drama series. @michkeegan (Michelle Keegan) is just fantastic in it. Great plot, lots of twists. Keeps you gripped. Loved it.
4. I only went on a few dog walks this week, (Nick has stepped up to the plate with this, he’s good in the cold) but the one day looked so pretty. We both stopped to admire the sun going down over our local pond. There’s something so calming about being near water that I really love.
And that’s it for this week!
What have you done to fill your cup that had nothing to with work?

Since testing the Smart range, this is a super simple routine that I have been loving. Easy products, great ingredients and safe for sensitive skin, what’s not to love!! 🙌
You can shop this new Smart moisturiser and all the products in the range on Clinique.co.uk or at your local counter.

Who doesn’t love a good wedding? The flowers, the venue, the guest list, the dress! But would you do it all again in midlife? As someone who has walked down the aisle in her twenties, thirties and forties, I know a thing or two when it comes to ‘the big day’. My dad’s favourite joke is that he’s given me away three times, but I keep coming back again… 🥴
So, I was curious to hear from this week’s guest about what it’s like to plan for someone’s big day? Siobhan Craven-Robins is a wedding planner with almost 30 year’s experience in making everything just right for nervous young first timers, older couples renewing their vows, and even Hollywood stars, including Greg Kinnear’s wedding to his wife Helen, and Joan Collins’ wedding to her husband Percy.
In our joyful conversation, Siobhan and I discuss:
🥰 What’s it like arranging huge celebrity weddings?
🥰 How the JOY of two people sharing their love in front of family and friends is one of life’s most precious moments – and how not to forget that in the stress of the day.
🥰 The one piece of advice she gives every couple on their wedding day.
🥰 The unique experience of midlife weddings compared to others.
🥰 The one mistake most couples make and how to avoid it.
And so much more!
