I’m completely blown away by this book. I was intrigued by the fact this is part memoir/fiction but let me tell you, the writing style reads like a memoir. I almost wished I listened to this on audio, this honestly felt like sitting with a close friend (aka our free therapist) and pouring out our deep dark secrets especially when it came to our dating life and internal struggles that only our closest friends could understand. There were so many times I said out loud “yup I can relate to that” or “omg no she didn’t” – literally had to grab a glass of wine cause I was enjoying it too much!
As much as this is a serious topic, even if you’re not struggling with addiction, you will find a lightness to the way the author tells her story. Almost comforting like bingeing a reality show. This had me pouting with sadness and laughing at the silly moments. Nothing but 💯 real and entertaining!
& at the end of the day as cliché as it may sound, you have to love yourself first. Sounds so simple right? But it can be one of the hardest things to practice for some (myself included).
So grab that glass of wine & bag of goldfish cause you’re in for a wild ride with this one 😝
