Another highlight from this year was interviewing the phenomenal @darin.sallam about her film @farha.film – a scripted feature about the horrors of the 1948 Nakba and how it ripped apart the lives of Palestinians. Sadly, this was not just one historic event. We only need to see the footage and photos coming out of Gaza to watch history repeat itself, and that the Palestinian Nakba has been ongoing ever since. These are dark days but we look to important voices and artists like Darin who raise awareness with their powerful, humanising work and advocacy.
