Darnell Cox Instagram – Here are 5 things I stopped doing in my 50’s that physical & mental health:

1. 🍷🚫I stopped drinking alcohol! Alcohol was a part of my life for 30 years. I’m not saying it was easy to quit, especially since alcohol is at nearly EVERY social occasion and celebration, but cutting alcohol out of my life is the single best thing I’ve ever done for my health.

2. 🍎🍌I stopped snacking on fruit! I used to grab a piece of fruit mid day to get me to dinner. However, research reveals (as well as a continuous glucose monitor I wore to test it myself) that fruit is not the best thing to snack on. Fruit contains fructose, which can spike blood sugar levels and lead you down a path of eating more. It’s best to eat fruit AFTER a meal, not as a snack by itself.

3. 👟 💪I stopped looking for excuses to take the day off of the gym. Intentional movement EVERY day is GREAT for longevity.

4. 🏃‍♀️😰I stopped doing excessive cardio and instead incorporated more strength training 🏋️‍♀️, stretching🧘🏼‍♀️, and balance exercises. 🤸‍♀️

5. 😫🚫I stopped looking at Midlife as some sort of crises and started looking for Midlife Opportunities! 🤩🙌🏻
