Devaki Rajendran Instagram – I was thinking of putting a dance video on this International Dance Day. But I’ll instead share this post of the two people who made me who I am. They let me enjoy the art I practice, they encouraged me to do what I do every day. They made me who I am today.
When people ask you how you are doing, what do you tell them? What can you tell them?
Loss is a part of life. Loss is inevitable. But sometimes it doesn’t make sense. Knowing this doesn’t make it better. We go on. We get up, get dressed and try to make things happen as if we are better now. Some days are great, some days you feel the weight of life hit you. Hard. We carry our losses with us, each day. Negotiating and navigating.
I am truly grateful for the art that I have the honor of engaging with every single day. I don’t know what I would have been if not an artist. And everyday I thank Amma and Acha for letting me do what I love doing. I don’t really know how I could deal with life without the arts.
