This dichroic film reel from @3m is both beautiful and really difficult to produce. So much physics in such a thin film! #ad
I have 4 months worth of selfies like this because couch is all I’ve been doing.
Since July, I’ve been struggling with what’s called “Long COVID.” Someone you know might’ve had this syndrome, and not even known. For me, the symptoms are, being unable to get out of bed for a few weeks after I pushed to finish my last YouTube video. (Post-Exertional Malaise). Becoming dizzy and nauseous if I walk more than 10 mins a day (Exercise Intolerance). Spelling cancel “cansul” in an email, losing my place in the sentence I was just writing, inability to process any scientific papers (Brain Fog). Getting extremely stressed while driving. (Emotional Disregulation) Along with extreme fatigue, sleeping like a teenager, breathlessness, digestive issues, chest pain, and kryptonite intolerance.
Post-COVID syndrome takes a few forms, including post-ICU complications, but mine is very similar to Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).
I’m hoping to make a video soon about this, but not yet. There won’t be a lot of videos from me for the next few months. I’m sad too. 😛

This is what life is like for Dianna when she is AWAKE. This is what severe Long COVID and ME/CFS can look like.
We made a small time-lapse of what it looks like in Dianna’s room for a day. This is what she has been doing every day since January of 2023.
Many people think if she were in her room all day without anything to do, that she could maybe watching TV or reading books. But the mental toll ME/CFS takes disables her from being able to do anything fun that is mentally stimulating. She is awake, but unable to meaningfully interact or have many complex thoughts.
Dianna gets a few meals a day, a few words exchanged with her husband Kyle, and not much else.

Hung out with these internet legends over the weekend! I’ve been a fan of @xkcd since 2007. What a trip to meet him. And @ianhecox you’re cool too.
Also Randall @xkcd has a new book out. Y’all should check it out!

#ad I’d never seen a superhydroPHILIC surface until @3m let me draw on one of their Post-it® Flex Write Surfaces with permanent markers. When I put water on it, Flex Write is so hydrophilic that water went UNDER the permanent marker lifting it right off the board. So cool!
Have you ever wondered about those yellow sticky drapes used during surgery? Turns out this is a technology that was launched over 40 years ago further advancing surgical incise drapes. The orange coloring is from iodine which is great at killing bacteria. The adhesive on the drape adheres it to the skin, holding bacteria in place while providing surgeons with a sterile surface. The 3M™️ Ioban™️ 2 Antimicrobial Incise Drape is one of @3m ‘s many adhesive technologies used in the medical industry. #ad

Back in the studio for the first time in 4 months. My stunt double was disappointed to be shelved.
Mud volcanoes are formed when pressurized CO2 in the ground flows up the surface bringing along water. They are mesmerizing. From my 2021 trip to Salton Sea. Sometimes I wish I studied geology. Full video: https://youtu.be/Ek1buV2HA68
the cold never bothered me anyway.
Throwback to Feb this year in Prudhoe Bay Alaska, the “census-designated place” at the end of the Ice Road Truckers’ road. And the last photo is 160 miles north of THAT, where I slept on arctic sea ice above a nuclear submarine. With my current long covid health issues, I’m working very slowly on getting more videos about the nuclear submarine out for you guys, so stay tuned. Not too tuned…just a little tuned ☺️

Still reliving my visit to the US Navy’s Arctic Ice Camp in March. Living on an ice camp meant eating freeze dried eggs and peeing in a bag. Getting to the ice camp meant riding in a propeller plane with the Royal Canadian Air Force. All of it was insane. The 3 beautiful photos of the camp were taken by @sethbkoenig. Full video on my YouTube channel!!

Pinch me. NASCAR superstar @danicapatrick had me on her podcast #prettyintensepodcast. Y’all this woman is CURIOUS! She shocked me with some amazingly deep questions, some of which I knew how to answer 😅. Check it out on YouTube, I think it really happened? Link in bio.
Sometimes crazy things can happen during your adventures! Hoping that that man got a good night sleep…because we certainly did not.
