Anyway, it’s mad to me that I came to books as a child in large part due to isolation, and they’ve brought me more connection then I could have ever imagined ☺️
It was a huge honour to be back on home turf for @ilfdublin last weekend. Thank you to all of yis that showed up, I’ll never get over the love readers show me. When I was starting out another author told me that once I was more seasoned I’d scrawl my name and be done with it but no still taking too long trying to write notes in each book until I’m eventually and inevitably hurried along by production 😅
Thank you @maeveinamerica for being a stellar chair, gas craic, sensitivity and considered research made for fantastic questions and prompts I enjoyed it immensely
I walked outside and strolled through the square to look up and see a plaque on the gaff of an old favourite writer of mine another Dubliner from another age Sheridan Le Fanu
and it was a reminder that Dublin made me a writer as much as anything
