I, Erin Cahill, am partnering with buildOn to highlight this special day and Women’s History Month, to talk about their Adult Literacy Program.
Education is a vital human right, yet most of the world’s people living in extreme poverty lack basic education––the majority of whom are women. But through buildOn’s Adult Literacy Program, participants learn to read, write, and do basic math for the first time in their lives. Those who complete the program also receive seed money to start new businesses which can have a positive ripple effect throughout their community for generations.
More than 40,259 adults have participated in the program, and more than 80% of the participants identify as female. That’s why I’m excited to partner with buildOn throughout the month of March to raise money for an Adult Literacy Program at the school my team and I will be building in Senegal next year!
