Franchesca Ramsey Instagram – happiest belated birthday to my favorite girl @smart_inez *swipe* for photos from over a decades worth of adventures. there aren’t enough words in the English language to capture my love for Sham, but I’ll try. She’s the little fairy on my shoulder reminding me to open my heart, listen to my inner child & to “woosha” when times are hard. she’s the friend who requests poems instead of presents, so of course I wrote her a song. her talents are many, but what I love most is she always sees the best in everyone. where I’m jaded and skeptical she’s optimistic & full of wonder. She’s the first one on the dance floor & the last to leave the party. she’s doing her makeup in the car & gets excited when important meetings line up with the new moon. she’s the queen of bougie travel, even though she won’t admit it. she’s usually running 10-15 mins late but never for the really important stuff. she always invites me to weird movies and chanting circles even though she knows I won’t go. she cries when she’s happy, which ends up being all the time. her favorite moments are spent writing in her journal & looking longingly out of car windows. she doesn’t just take photos for social media like everyone else, she makes beautiful short films. she doesn’t really “do the internet.” when she’s writing she gets real quiet & closes her eyes so she can “see” the scene. I think she’s my only friend that loves a photoshoot more than I do. I’m convinced she’s the only person on earth who uses these emojis: 🧚🏾‍♂️🔮🫂🧜🏾‍♀️🌀 but it’s one of my favorite things about her. She dances to the beat of her own drum while always making space for others to join in. the world is better because Shamikah is in it, and I’m better for it too. ✨💕
