I am so happy to share with you our performance from the legendary “Tiny Desk” at @nprmusic in Washington. It was filmed on one of the last days of November 23′, during my tour in North America. We arrived the day before, unfortunately both me and @ziemowitklimek were sick and feeling unwell after the first intense week in the States and a double show in NYC the day earlier. I felt almost woozy but thrilled on the other side and was really looking forward to the shooting day to come. I’ve already done a handful of challenging sessions in my life but this one seemed extreme. Firstly, I can hardly think of a more bizarre environment for an artistic performance – an open space office with its famous flamboyant corner, adorned with the oddest collection of clutter (which you are certainly dying to contribute to yourself). Secondly – the way you are going to perform – with no monitors, click, or in my case, vocal effects which feels completely terrifying at the first sight but on the other hand push you to rethink and reorchestrate your regular, dull setup. And lastly, the place and the people, the “Tiny” thing! The amount of anticipation and fear that is haunting you once your date with NPR is confirmed is enormous. And it is very understandable. So the moment when you finally arrive at the radio’s parking slot and everyone is immediately taking care of you and simply behaving like the kindest and most fun people on Earth is an utter relief (and let’s be frank – shock). The self doubt and stress is still in the air but the profound joy of making together something that might actually sound unique blurs the spiky edges and breaks the ice. To be very honest I don’t remember much from this day. I was too giddy and too sick. But when I watched the video last Monday in the studio with my friend we were both similarly excited and happy. It feels simply unreal to me to see myself and Ziemo jamming there around, acting totally relaxed and focused. And arguably having a lot of genuine fun making music together. @nprmusic, @bob_boilen, the amazing “Tiny Desk” team and everyone else involved – thank you!

47. A year is so little
Thanks for a beautiful response to my “tiny” performance at Tiny Desk @nprmusic. From Monday, the show will be available on Youtube (and ready to be listened to on a loop :). In the meanwhile I am slowly and meticulously going through my rolls from the last couple of months of wandering from place to place and picking tenderly my favourite moments. This one comes from Vancouver (very faaar from home!) and its enchanted forest.
Tour starts again in two weeks! I can’t wait to play my music to you again. Come and see us at: 05/03 @projecthouselds, Leeds 06/03 @wylam_brewery, Newcastle 07/03 @swg3glasgow, Glasgow 09/03 @bristol_beacon, Bristol 10/03 @chalk_venue, Brighton The last tickets are available via the link in my bio or at haniarani.com Poster design by Veil Projects Photo by Natalia Sadanowicz

I simply don’t know where to start. It has been a while since I shared the last update of my playlist Life is a film but for all of you who follow it patiently it is certain that this space is an utter insomniac, restless realm which absorbs and collects all possible futures. All the time! In the world where in order to survive we need to acknowledge our feelings and learn how to let them in and out, this place is for me a rare opportunity to bury all my convictions and everything that feels reasonable and right. It is a sense of urgency, simple impuls, reaction rather than response. Misconception, contradiction, wilderness. A temple of “unholy” clutter. Thank god ears are not so easy to tether. Weirdly, I enjoyed a lot the last couple of months with less sunlight, music gets a different flavour when observed in the dimmed light. Time seems to glide slower when it’s darker and so do winter days confluenced nicely with more obscure soundscapes. There is a lot of ravishing Jonny Greenwood, breathy @meredithmonk, impish John Cage, elusive Kajia Saarahjo, bizarre @jerskinfendrix, bustling @soundwalkcollective, experimental Sam Gendel, reticent Kali Malone @hotscorpions and pleasantly intricate @porticoquartet. And on top of that a bit of relentlessly worshipped Schönberg, Bach and @thesmiletheband. Everything has a meaning there and nothing really matters simultaneously. Have a sip 🙂

Montreal. – 6 but we are happily basking in the Canadian sun. The day earlier Maestro himself joined me on stage and we danced together with Ghosts for the first time in a slightly more tangible way then earlier (I mean – WhatsApp! How bad is that!). It was definitely not the most significant day for my photography but I fully forgive myself – Patrick is an elusive creature and arguably his inexplicable speed of mind is expressed with nimble movements. I adore you man! Till next time
How do you start at the end (And we start to tour again tomorrow !)
