Happy Birthday week @DavidBowie. Thanks for being a brilliant mentor, for teaching me how to transform, trust, and subtly address social justice in my work to maximize impact. When I was a student, he invited me and my team to his studio, as he finished up his Heathen album. Discussing philosophy, anthropology, our mutual love of Metropolis and Man Ray, and his crisis of faith in the grand narratives after 9-11, he commissioned my first major album art. I was blessed to work with David for over a decade, as he launched both my photography and my directorial debut.
