Tonight is the 14th annual Holiday Hop. A concert I’ve been doing since 2007. My favorite concert of the year during my favorite time of the year. This year has been challenging on every level. But I knew we couldn’t break tradition! I knew I couldn’t let this year break my spirits. I hope you tune in and make some joyful memories with us tonight. This is @funstetter. She is writing the book for The Notebook. I am writing the music and lyrics. While we aren’t the first female writing team of a Broadway bound musical, we find ourselves in a very very very small group. In an industry where women writing teams are rare, I count myself extremely lucky and also extremely responsible for helping to create more space for women in this world. Yay women. YAY WOMEN.

I wrote “it never ends” for my nieces. But I think it ended up being a little bit for me too. And I hope for you. ❤️ It is out today, and the full record, For the Dreamers is out on Aug 23. 💭
I haven’t released a full-length solo record since 2019. I wanted to put something out in the world that felt a little different from what I had released before, but also kind of a returning to home. Something a little quieter? Something a little hopeful? Something for those of us who can’t help but keep dreaming despite the darkness. And all under the sonic umbrella of decades past. This second single (following “Love Is” with Jason Mraz) is a cover of “What A Wonderful World.” It’s not a statement. It’s more of a prayer. A wish. A dream. I hope it brings solace. And I can’t wait for you to hear the rest of my new record on August 23rd, For The Dreamers.
