Jerrie Johnson Instagram – I’ve been meditating a lot on my place in the world and how to be ACTIVE during a time of such darkness, as a light worker and an empath- it’s been difficult and even debilitating at times. Wanting to create content as an extension of my creativity while people simultaneously are DYING in the Middle East, people who didn’t consent to be apart of a full on war. While also not wanting to get on social media for too long because as an empath watching such brutality can take me out of commission for days. Not only that, the gruesome images of violence against women being released daily as survivors of abuse get their due justice… (We won’t even get into the crumbling educational system 😭 or police states)… There’s a lot going on.
📖I turn to writers that I love for guidance (Thank God for @adriennemareebrown for giving language to different ways of protest and activism through Emergent Strategy and Pleasure Activism- books that literally took me from being a martyr and a sacrificial lamb in college to redefining what it means for me to be an Activist) What I learned is, I am the best advocate for others when I am working at my highest vibration 🧘🏾♀️ (thank god for hot yoga @fiercegracenyc ) and that the daily act of care and deep love IS a radical act for me, having grown up with the absence of that. (Thank you @dria.brown for being in a constant Love 💕 practice with me)
