Johanna Griggs Instagram – Spending a day with Mark Olive is like being wrapped up in a blanket of joy and warmth – (which was needed as the day we shot with him, turned completely feral) He didn’t miss a beat – just kept cooking and chatting like a total pro in the pouring rain. Mark was born and raised in Dharawal Country, in Dapto. He is Australia’s most celebrated Indigenous Chef and currently runs @thefarmkiosk in the picturesque setting of Killalea Regional Park, which has become a real hub for the local community and a foodie destination people travel hours for. He is also Ambassador for Midden in the Opera House. His career on TV is just as impressive, with ‘The Black Olive’, then ‘The Outback Cafe’ which went all over the globe, as well as appearances on ‘The Chefs Line’ and ‘On Country Kitchen’. He whipped up the easiest and most delicious Barramundi in paperbark and had our whole crew in stitches for the entire time. He’s such a natural showman. I absolutely adore him!
