Jona Xiao Instagram – A painful moment of failure 😫 from 2 angles 😝:
I was playing in the NFL Flag championship game, down by 1 point and we went for 2 points for the win. The stakes are high and the tension is palpable. I felt very confident in my playcall and my reads. Seeing the defensive pre-snap alignment, I audibled a route to one of the receivers.
Then, I went to take the snap…
…and dropped it.
Game over.
I had my head in my hands and was so frustrated with myself. I just let down my entire team. I’ve caught MUCH more difficult snaps and rarely ever drop a snap.
Learning Lessons:
💥 Always focus on the present moment, don’t look too far ahead. I was looking at the defense while taking the snap so didn’t look the ball all the way in.
💥 It’s easy to lose confidence when we make a big mistake and we keep beating ourselves up, but those moments don’t define us and we get to remind ourselves of who we are and embrace the fact that we are human as well
💥 In the game of life, we often celebrate our triumphs and victories, but it’s equally important to embrace our setbacks and failures.
