Throughout the first and second trimester of my pregnancy I had been very healthy, it had been quite easy for me. No morning sickness, baby development was good, everything seemed smooth, and I was ready for my final home run!
But once the third trimester hit, I started developing carpal tunnel syndrome, gestational diabetes, and at 34 weeks my blood pressure suddenly shot up overnight and I had to admit myself into hospital. Tests showed that my bile acids were very high, blood platelets low, and doctors worried that I might develop preeclampsia, which can be life-threatening for both myself and the baby. I was monitored in hospital for almost two weeks and by week 36 of my pregnancy doctors were worried that my situation might get worse overnight, so they decided that it’ll be safer for me to give birth as soon as possible. I really wanted to give birth naturally, so they had to try inducing me for labor. The induction was unsuccessful, and I ended up having an emergency c section.
In the end, it was all worth it as I gave birth to my adorable baby girl 💕.
