The first wave of the pandemic was at its peak. So was the noise during Ganpati Visarjan. Not in the streets but on TV. Bollywood was supposedly high on drugs. The media was high on scandals. The rest of us were, well, just on high alert.
Guess what some of us did? We made a film about it while the post truth media circus unravelled.
A post-romance-stoner comedy-drama with a satirical lens on the world around us. A film made without big studios. A film where every character has a voice, except our apolitical hero.
The film stars comedian Shaurya Tyagi, Rashi Mal (Brahmastra, Helicopter Eela, Sir), the legendary Suchitra Pillai, Akshay Anand Kohli (Mumbai Diaries, Bombay Meri Jaan), Katie Iqbal (Ragini MMS Returns, Cartel, The Great Weddings of Munnes), Ivan Rodrigues (Uri, Tiger Zinda Hai, Scam 1992, The Family Man), Telugu actress Nishanthi Evani and a bunch of other special surprise cameos including feel-good legends Nagesh Kukunoor and Oscar winner Cameron Crowe himself (who has written and delivered the closing monologue of the film). Rahul Rajkhowa and Augustus Henry have delivered a kickass jazz and blues album and a bonus Bollywood banger Dil Hai Chillum. Written Directed Produced by yours truly, Sudhish Kamath
