I’m so attached to my insulin pump. I mean, *literally*, I’m attached. 😅🤖 The idea of having an insulin pump used to be really scary for me, which is weird to think about, because now it feels completely natural to me, and I can’t imagine my life without my @Omnipod DASH. It took me 10 years before I even opened myself up to the idea of wearing a pump, and when I heard that a tubeless one existed, I had to at least try it. I realized that change doesn’t have to be so scary, and if for some reason, I didn’t like it, I could always go back, but as you can see, I didn’t. 💙 For more info on Omnipod, check out the link in my bio or go to http://Omnipod.com/Kelsey #Sponsoredpodvocate #Omnipod #Podder #OmnipodDASH #insulinpump #t1dlookslikeme #t1d #t1dwarrior #type1diabetes
When I was 17, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I was already an insecure, shy, awkward teenage girl, and now, on top of that, I was hating my body for “quitting” on me. I also hated having to deal with the stigma of having this disease that a lot of people think is caused by eating too much sugar. I hid my diabetes (for years), so no one knew I had it. I did my shots in the bathroom. I was taking at least 5 shots a day, so I always had bruises, and I was developing scar tissue. Plus, having a disease that revolves around counting every single carb I put in my body is not an easy thing for a young woman (or anyone). But in a weird way, getting an insulin pump, @Omnipod, actually improved my body image. I slowly started thinking of diabetes less and less. I didn’t have to set alarms to take my basal doses or run to the bathroom to take a shot before I ate. I casually just entered my dose into my PDM and wa-la! Plus, once I started wearing my Pod publicly, I started meeting and connecting with other T1Ds and felt much less alone. It’s taken a long time, but I’m learning to love my body (scar tissue and all) and celebrate my robot parts for all that they do, and not let diabetes stop me. 💙 For more info on Omnipod, check out the link in my bio or go to http://Omnipod.com/Kelsey #SponsoredPodvocate #type1diabetes #t1dlookslikeme #t1d #type1diabetic #PodPOV *Eligibility may vary. you know, just having pretty *swell* sugars over here 🌊✨ I heard somewhere that Type 1 diabetes is one of the only illnesses where the patient has to calculate their own doses…and our doses fluctuate and are different every single day 😅🤯 It’s hard and it’s a lot of work, which is why it’s so important to have support and diabetes educators that we can rely on. @carbonhealth has been a great resource for me! They have a new program on their app for people living with diabetes that gives you virtual diabetes care. It’s been a game changer for me, because I can just message (or even FaceTime) one of their endocrinologists and get advice on my doses and patterns. The app syncs with your CGM, so they have access to your blood sugar levels and can figure out what’s going on quickly. It’s very personalized, and even though it’s virtual, they really take the time to get to know you. Plus, the less time I have to spend figuring out diabetes, the more time I have to do things that I really love and enjoy, like learning how to surf 🏄🏻♀️ Check out the link in my stories or bio to get more info on @carbonhealth and their diabetes program 💙#carbonhealth #ad

I never thought sitting on a toilet could be so glamorous… 🚽✨🎬 @quartermovie
I’m a person who wants to do a lot of things trapped in the body of a person that just wants to sleep *a lot*
This is how I roll… 🛼🕺

diabetes care, but make it virtual 🤖💫 @carbonhealth is a very inclusive, safe, supportive healthcare provider that is using technology to make really great care accessible to everyone, and they just came out with a virtual care program for people living with diabetes 💙 In their app, you can FaceTime appointments with your endo and message them directly whenever you need help with your blood sugar levels. The app syncs with your CGM, so your endo can see what’s going on and adjust your doses. You can also use the app, like a diary, to log your food and exercise to really find your patterns and get those steady sugars ➡️ Check out the link in my bio to learn more! #carbonhealth #ad
💃🏻 a still from a super 8 camera test we did for @quartermovie 🎞 🎥 @esztercsepeli_dp 🎬directed by @arnonmanor and me!
I’ve always been into fashion 🌸
Still *beaming* after speaking at @tribeca 🥹✨ I just felt so honored and thrilled to be speaking about my film, Quarter, and changing the narrative around Type 1 diabetes through storytelling (and comedy) with @brookeshields @rowanhenchyy @adamschefter and @heyyallitsjae . Everyone spoke so beautifully, and the panel was very powerful and moving. We all shared how t1d has impacted our lives and how we’re hoping to change the stigma and empower others through Quarter. Thank you @beyondtype1 @arnonmanor and @jillfritzo for all your support in putting this together! 💙 #tribeca #tribecafilmfestival #type1diabetes #t1d #t1dlookslikeme #diabetesempowerment #t1dawareness

So honored and excited to share that I’ll be speaking on a panel at @tribeca about my film, Quarter ✨ @brookeshields @rowanhenchyy @adamschefter @heyyallitsjae @beyondtype1 and I will talk about Type 1 diabetes and how storytelling and filmmaking can be used to spark change. I wrote Quarter because I want to normalize and bring awareness to Type 1 diabetes, and I chose to write it as a comedy, because a) I love comedy, and b) it was important to me that the audience relates to the character and is entertained while watching something so significant and meaningful. My hope is that Quarter will make people laugh, and at the same time, start conversations to change the stigma and help people living with it feel seen and less alone 🩵 @arnonmanor and I are so proud of what we’ve created with Quarter, and we can’t wait to share it with the world soon (!!)

monday, monday ✨ Before Quarter, there was MONDAYS. A few years ago, I wrote and starred in the web series, MONDAYS. @arnonmanor directed and produced, and we had so much fun creating it together. It was based on a lot of awkward and embarrassing situations I was going through in my twenties. As a writer and actor, I got to experiment with different types of comedy, characters, high concepts, and I learned so much. We made about 25 episodes, and the web series has received over 12 million views 👀 I also got to work with a lot of talented actors… @heyclaytron who played Ethan Craft in Lizzie McGuire played my boyfriend (I highly recommend casting your childhood crush as your love interest), @officialkjb (a Halloweentown icon) played my future self, and @heatherrelizabethh played my life coach (true story: at one point, I actually did hire a life coach in LA, which I do not recommend…) Making MONDAYS was an amazing experience, and it was a big inspiration for @quartermovie – which I can’t wait to share more about soon, but in the meantime, #watchmondays
