Note: The first time I saw water this blue was when I was 19 years old and my parents took me on a family trip to Tahiti. The color of the water was seared into my mind and I’ve carried that core memory around like a precious treasure, always seeking to visit islands surrounded by that shade of blue.
Here in Turks and Caicos, I found it again. The water is crystal clear, warm and just as striking.
Another note: If you’re coming from Miami, the flight is less than 1 1/2 hours. If you’re coming from LA, there’s no direct flight. It takes almost 9 hours to get here. If you’re coming from the West Coast, my advice: stop in Miami for a day or two before coming so you break up the trip 😉
