Loreena to perform at Stratford fundraiser TICKETS IN BIO LINK @LoreenaMcKennitt Loreena will be headlining a concert at Knox Church in her home base of Stratford, joining other local artists in a joint community effort to raise money for airfare and expenses for Ukrainians fleeing their war-torn homeland and hoping to settle in Stratford and neighbouring counties. On May 13th at 7:30 p.m. Loreena will perform solo on harp or keyboards for four or five songs. Other performers include Gemini Award-winning actor Cedric Smith, actor Seana McKenna, the Stratford-based Celtic band The Bookends @thebookendsceltic, and INNERchamber’s Andrew Chung on violin and Emily Hamper on piano. The Azars, a Syrian family, will also perform with Samir on oud and his wife Rouba on vocals. Former Festival actor Michael Fox will act as host for the event. The fundraiser has been organized by the Multicultural Association Perth-Huron (MAPH) @multiculturalperthhuron and Loreena is producing the concert. Musicians and special guests will all be donating their time and 100 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to this cause. Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus joins Loreena at Friday fundraiser TICKET LINK IN BIO @LoreenaMcKennitt Five members of the captivating Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America @ukrainianbandura are the newest additions to the impressive line-up of performers for Friday’s fundraising concert for Ukraine where Loreena will appear as the headline act. The concert takes place in Loreena’s home base of Stratford, Canada. It promises to be a stellar evening of outstanding talent, including two of Canada’s most renowned actors, Seana McKenna and Cedric Smith. It will surely be a night to be remembered. The evening’s experience will be complemented by the performances of Syrian family Samir, Rouba and Jawed Azar; the Celtic band The Bookends, as well as classical artists Andrew Chung and Emily Hamper. Seana will recite from a newly-crafted script, A Dictionary of Emotions, written by Elena Astaseva at the beginning of the 2022 Ukraine war. Cedric will read from the works of revered Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko. Anishinaabe Algonquin author and speaker S.P.
