Loreena McKennitt Instagram – Loreena brought her Under A Winter’s Moon seasonal concert to Toronto’s acoustically-renowned Koerner Hall for two performances on Dec. 10th. The concerts were a unique blend of carols and tales, something she likened to ‘a love letter to the season’. The performance featured the oral traditions found in many cultures and included readings by Gemini Award-winning Canadian actor Cedric Smith. The performances began with Christin Dennis (@christinsweatlodgeguy) 𝐺𝑧ℎ𝑖𝑖𝑞𝑢𝑜𝑡 “Fast Moving Cloud” of Aamjiwnaag First Nation narrating Sky Woman story and included a reading and flute solo by Jeffrey “Red” George (@redgeorge9) 𝑀𝑎-𝑚𝑖-𝑚𝑜-𝑔𝑎-𝑏𝑜𝑜, Otter Clan, Kettle and Stoney Point Ojibway First Nation. Loreena was accompanied by Caroline Lavelle @carolinelavelle (Cello), Cait Watson @caitrwatson (Whistle), Pete Watson @trewwatson (Guitar & Bouzouki), Errol Fischer @the_errolfischer (Fiddle) and Romano Di Nillo @romanomusic (Percussion).
