I am deeply saddened to hear that the incredible actor Lance Reddick has passed away. I was fortunate enough to have worked with Lance on the series INTELLIGENCE, & I can still feel the power & honesty that he brought to his role. Lance was also a genuine sweetheart of a human. A huge loss to the acting community. Rest in power Lance. My thoughts are with his family. 💔

In the Big Apple this weekend to honor the late great Paula Weinstein. A beautiful memorial, held during @tribecca film festival, where Paula’s genius as a producer, guided the festival for over a decade. Paula’s extraordinary daughter Hannah Rosenberg, hosted a perfect day filled with deeply heartfelt tributes, laughter, & a Motown dance party at @sohograndhotel Added bonus was getting to hang with one of my idols, the legendary @janefonda ! Thank you @hmsrose for producing a fitting tribute to your mama. And to my amazing husband #charliehaugk for taking all the 📸 #PaulaForever

I first met @aezuiker during the 2000 tv pilot season. Anthony had written a script that I very much wanted to do. It was called CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, for which I was cast, (yay!) & ended up working on for 12 seasons! 22 years later Anthony & I had the distinct pleasure of collaborating on an episode of @CSIVEGAS which airs TONIGHT on @cbstv Thanks AZ for writing me such an emotionally rich episode. When are we gonna do it again?!

A few years ago the fiercely talented actor Betty Gilpin & I played pretend mother-in-law & daughter-in-law opposite each other in the movie #ADogsJourney. The experiences we shared together during the shoot in Winnipeg, both on & off the set, are ones in which I’ll always cherish. Flash forward to four years later, and Betty has now written a book of essays, musings, & everything in between. ALL THE WOMEN IN MY BRAIN is not your typical memoir because Betty’s brain is no where near typical. It’s ferocious, insightful, unique, witty, empathetic, & smart AF! This book is giving me all the feels. Proud to know ya Betty! ❤️
I am very sorry to hear that the actor, comic, musician, & painter Martin Mull has died. I first became a fan of Martin while a teenager when I happened upon the subversive sitcom, MARY HARTMAN, MARY HARTMAN, & later its spinoff FERNWOOD 2-NIGHT. Martin was a rare & gifted talent, & lovely man, who for decades never ceased to make me & millions of others smile. Martin was also an extraordinary painter whose work appeared in N.Y.’s Whitney & Metropolitan museums, among others. I loved visiting Martin at his studio in L.A. to see everything he was working on. His unique painting style combined lightness with darkness, & always with a touch of humor. I loved his work so much that I bought several pieces which are proudly hung on my walls. The painting above my piano was featured in the virtual episode of the tv series ALL RISE, shot in the early days of the pandemic. My thoughts are with Martin’s wife Wendy, & daughter Maggie. Rest in peace dear Martin. 💔

While cleaning out my mother’s home a few months ago I came upon this photo of Dad. Looks like it was taken in Nebraska when he was about 20 years old. A contemplative soul, lover of nature, animals, & music, I can still hear my father’s singing voice while reflecting upon him today. His rendition of Ave Maria will always be my favorite. Miss you Dad today & everyday. #HappyFathersDay
