This cardio core series is so fun you won’t even feel like you’re working out! Turn up the tunes, exhale any bullis*%t you had to deal with this week & PLAY!
In just a few minutes, this choreography will wake up your hips, stretch your calves & feet, sculpt your abs, stabilize your spine & strengthen your shoulders, core & postural muscles. Wow…that’s a lot for one little plank right? ☺️
Focus on:
⁃ keeping your pelvis tucked down & towards your navel (so your hips are in line with your shoulders)
⁃ widening your shoulder blades & bracing them against your back
⁃ pressing all 10 fingers into the floor so that all your body weight doesn’t collapse into your elbows & shoulders
⁃ driving energy out your feet so your whole body feels like it’s playing along!
Try doing just one round first then working up to more. It’s about PROGRESS not PERFECTION ❤️
Ps. If being on your forearms doesn’t feel of service to your neck & shoulders, customize this routine by doing in in a straight arm plank or on an incline against a stable surface or wall!

Last night’s lunar eclipse was all about showing us that emotional comfort & security is really connected to vulnerability. Our instinct to protect all the feels just means we’re emotional beings (let’s be real, who isn’t right?) & it takes courage to open up. This moon reminds us that being vulnerable is actually your superpower. It’s a good time to reflect on the sh*% that’s weighing you down, holding you back, or marking you feel like you have to armor up. Be extra nice to your soft side today 🤍

As a little kid I was allowed to rent one movie every Friday night with my parents (from the ‘non-new-release’ section of course 😆) more often than not I’d choose Firestarter. I loved scary movies…especially this one based on a Stephen King novel about an 8 year old girl with supernatural powers that she ultimately uses to take down the secret government agency that destroyed her family & seeks to control her. I watched it a hundred times. I wanted that kind of power👊

Fast forward a couple decades later when our mutual love of fitness brings us together & that little girl I used to watch from my basement in Edmonton becomes one of the most wonderful & supportive people in my life. She inspires me endlessly with her joy, brilliance, superhuman work ethic & tireless effort to make this world a better place while always lifting others up. I’m so grateful for her.
Yesterday, on the second season of her amazing show, we got to chat about our love of health & some small things we can all do to help protect it. It was a dream.
It was also such a good reminder that just because we can’t see something ‘right now’ doesn’t mean it won’t exist. Some of the very best days of our lives haven’t even happened yet…how cool is that?!
This was one of mine.

Channeled all the lioness vibes for our (very sweaty) Halloween class this year. Cool facts about lionesses: they are the primary hunters for the pride, they use teamwork to bring the prey down, they are smaller & more agile than the males.
In groups, lionesses become a creative and strategic force to be reckoned with, acting as one to change the world around them.
Here’s to all the lionesses out there. Let em hear your ROAR!!! 🦁

What makes you smile?
Truth is, we’re all just trying our best right?…& some days feel easier than others. So many hours are spent just trying to keep our heads above water & reacting to what gets thrown at us (that’s life baby!). Then when we finally get a second to breath we start thinking about what happened in the past, or what might happen in the future…neither of which are in our control or even real. All we’ve really got is this moment.
And now this one…

All of this can make us feel out of control & as humans that feels really unsafe. It threatens our primal survival instinct. We’re just wired that way. It’s one of the reasons there’s so much talk about the powers of meditation & mindfulness: because it brings you back to the place you are empowered…right now!
Maybe today when you get that anxious/spinning feeling (that’s just what it feels like to me🥺) stop it in its tracks… look for something in that very moment that brings you joy or makes you feel grateful (your amazing breath & body are always there if you’re having a hard time finding something). Give yourself one minute to really be with that thing/thought & see how it feels…. do your shoulders drop? You forehead relax? Your belly soften? Your breath slow down? All of this is healing. Just notice it… no opinions or judgment allowed 🤍
Thinking about all this I had an idea!!! Let’s start a list in the comments of all the things that make us smile so we’ll have inspo on the days when it feels harder to see the light.
I’ll start: MY PUPS! They love me the same before I brush my teeth, when my eyes are puffy, when I don’t get my to-do list done, no matter what’s in my bank account or how many times I feel like I’ve ‘failed’. Tuning into them makes me feel like everything is okay again.
