Getting into this stance without sinking into my normal and succumbing into my tight hamstrings takes many tries and several corrections to get it close to correct position. Getting into a new normal would mean repeatedly doing it for more than 10-20mins and several times of a week to a month. The takeaway, if we could build that habit while working out, our mental capacity to handle resilience over into our daily life might increase significantly. #pilatesinstructor #personaltrainer #selftraining #selfdevelopment #pilates #legspullingstraps #stottpilatesreformer
Was down with Covid for a week, body was aching and my mood was down after a couple of days from lying down. Got in about 10-15mins of mobility time in and honestly I couldn’t have felt better. I edited and compressed it into a 90secs clip. Hope this helps you who may just need to get some stretches and blood circulation going while avoiding any intense workout. This comprises of some movement to activate the glutes, hamstrings, quads, core, back and arms while loosening the stiff joints. Have a fantastic day ahead my friends 🥰🥰🥰. #personaltrainer #pilatesinstructor #mobility #mobilitytraining
Me when I’m in my own zone. It’s really fun and I’m really dancing to the music 😂. #findyourhappy #personaltrainer #findyourpurpose
Here’s Serene, 53 years young. We only started out a year ago, mostly working on body awareness, changing bad movement patterns, creating new habits and improving range of motion. She came in today, we did a few warm up exercises, and I looked at her, I said,” Serene, I think you are ready. I see the way you move, your form is on point .. if u just trust your body and hold your grip tight.. I think you can do it.”. A set of 12kg dumbbells. 4 rounds, 10 reps each. Deadlift and Squat. Rounded off with a combo move with a set of 4kg DB. Honestly, this wasn’t my expectation of her nor hers. She came in with a medical report that states she needs to work on strength as her bone density is low, she wants to continue to work on her mobility so that as she age she can still travel and do her hikes. We work in accordance to her goals, and just like that the body responds and today her body reacted in such a way, from my experience, I can tell she is very ready to scale up. Our body works in so many ways and only if we stay consistent it will respond. It just clicks one day, and yar .. you can ☺️ Thank you for being my inspiration and giving me the most valuable gift this week Serene. We all need encouragement and inspiration, I hope this relates to anyone who needs that extra support today and gives you the confidence that no matter which stage of life we are at, we can make a difference ❤️. Thank you for allowing me to share this video on my IG platform Serene. You have been awesome 🙌🏻. #fitnessover50 #strengthtraining #inspiration #strongwomen #fitnessmotivation #thankyou #thankyouforforyourconsistency #wearenevertooold

Training movement in all directions allows us to create awareness of our bodies. Training is needed to help the body adapt and maintain its ability to use it daily. It’s fun, just some movements I’ve been working on the past weeks. #pilatesinstructor #stottpilates #personaltrainer #strengthandconditioning #pilates
My birthday gift to myself. I don’t often do body weight exercises as often nowadays but I do know I have to once awhile. To keep my movements nimble and light. Rounded off today’s strength train with- 10 Full Burpees, 20 Plyometric lunges and 50 Jumping Jacks . x3 rounds . #personaltrainer #pilatesinstructor #bodyweighttraining #fitnessmotivation #fitness #fitnessinyour50s #youareasyoungasyourspineisflexible #youareasyoungasyouwanttobe
Birthday Month- Please grant me more time. As I walk deeper into this journey of mine, like peeling off the skin of an onion diving deeper into the whys the need to move, hows to move and what to do to move better becomes clearer. Have you been through this phase or at it now, maybe even hear someone saying:” … this is no good, it gives me pain. “ Then you see another, who seemingly enjoys it and doesn’t seem to experience any pain. Good Posture that translates into good form will give good results. There’s a lot of complexities within, but to make it easy for all to digest, simply, To begin with, if you are hunched over or having an overly arched back in your daily life, the results yielded from the same exercise done by another with good posture will be very different. So this is my line of work I face everyday. Identify the degree of misalignment, determine what is most important, give the appropriate training. The human body is very complex but very satisfying once the results show. Pain is gone and miraculously the body becomes more agile and stronger even as we age. There’s still so much I hope to learn and help others with. The take away from reading this post my friends, the next time you work out, ask yourself what’s this movement for, which part of the body muscles is actually doing the work. U might yield better results. Also, big movement doesn’t necessarily mean better quality, sometimes subtle movement with more intent gives more yield. #personaltrainer #whywemove #exercisingbeyond50 #fitness #fitnessmotivation #pilatesinstructor
Unilateral movements with heavy weights for endurance. Push for stability, precision, intention and endurance. Playing with 15kg and 8kg got me down this week. Combo Strength training with a touch of Pilates for that additional mile. And I’m glad my team of clients are all keeping up, regardless of age😉💪🏻. And if you’re not sure if you ready for heavy work, your body will not lie. Your form, your stability will always be your best mirror. #personaltrainer #pilatesinstructor #fitness #fitnessmotivation #strongwomen #strengthtraining . You know who you are, great work team!

Take baby steps, be patient. It’s not easy to stay motivated and upbeat all the time on a fitness journey. Even professional athletes have to take time off from their “work” (training and conditioning). The first thing I always share with my clients, be patient with yourself. I always start with a thank you whenever they DM me, because that’s the most important step and hardest part of starting to let go of their past habits. Understand the value of your choice and the reason for that moment, whenever you hit a roadblock, that’s going to be the reason why you cannot take a short cut. Most trainers take years to be where they are today, a few weeks and months is not going to make you a different person. The numbers will change, however the physical outlook, the strength and mass along with the ability to maintain that level even when you’re “off” training… that will take years. Even so, each step ahead to create change is a HUGE leap. Why? Because an emotional and mental shift is stronger than any forces in our lives. If you keep building up that intrinsic power, what you gain will eventually be more than what you have expected. Gaining the power to control your mind. If you are on this path, well done my friend 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 you are doing amazingly well ❤️. #mythoughts #personaltrainer #pilatesinstructor #fitness #fitnessmotivation #strengthtraining #strongwomen

Add variety to your fitness journey by including different forms of activities. Unless you’re training for a specific sport e.g running, bodybuilding, professional athletic in a sport.. incorporating various aspects of fitness helps us to stay committed to movement and keeping up with our fit bodies. Cardio, Strength and Resistance training, Pilates, Yoga, Team sports , Hiking, Running, even walking is good. Mix it up. Just like eating, add colours, add variety to your routine once awhile, it keeps you alive😊. #personaltrainer #pilatesinstructor
Make it look effortless even if you’re struggling inside, even if you’re screaming inside, “ just one more rep, you can do it”. You can slow down, but don’t stop, complete it. And it’s over. #personaltrainer #strengthandendurance #fitness #fitnessmotivation
