A semi-truck driver is VERY lucky to be alive after an absolutely TERRIFYING incident on a Louisville, Kentucky bridge! A pickup truck smashed into a stopped car and lost control, spinning into oncoming traffic where it hit the big rig. The big rig ended up crashing through the bridge’s guardrail, leaving the cab and half the trailer dangling perilously over the Ohio River! Dozens of firefighters quickly arrived on the scene, and set up a pulley system on a ladder truck to send one rescuer down to get the driver. And, incredibly, they managed to do it in only about forty minutes! There’s a reason we ladies love us some first responders! Amazingly, the semi driver only had minor injuries, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution. What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever seen happen while driving? We’ve entered the era of Big Fat Greek GAY weddings! In February, Greece became the first majority Orthodox Christian country to legalize same-sex marriage. And the weddings have begun! A lawyer and an author were the first gay couple to have their civil ceremony in capital city Athens’ City Hall – and they even had the MAYOR as their officiant! He called the nuptials a “historic moment”, and said every citizen of Athens “should be able to live and love in the way they choose”. Hear, hear! Though, unsurprisingly, the actual Orthodox CHURCH disagrees! Church officials on the Greek island of Corfu imposed a religious BAN on a pair of local lawmakers who voted for legalization! @openaidalle impressed us last year with ChatGPT… but it’s blown us away with Sora! The company’s latest tech produces VIDEOS based on text prompts, and sophisticated videos at that! As in, they can have multiple shots and angles, last as long as a minute, and include “compelling characters”! Now, the website for the tech DOES admit there are still kinks to work out. An example they give is that someone might take a bite out of a cookie, but then the cookie will still be intact. They also SHOW some funny fail videos. Like a man running the wrong way on a treadmill, little wolf pups spontaneously appearing and disappearing, and a grandma failing to blow out her birthday candles! But they also show some pretty incredible successes! Ones that demonstrate all the good that can come from this tech… but also the deepfake danger! It seems that Americans get a lot of their news from social media, even if that ISN’T their plan! A majority of users on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok say that keeping up with the news is NOT a reason why they use those platforms. Now, X-slash-Twitter is somewhat of an exception. Among its users, twenty-five percent say getting news is a major reason they’re on there, while another forty percent say it’s a minor reason. But regardless of WHY people use social media, all of them overwhelmingly report seeing news-related content there. Now, MOST of that seems to be in form of people’s opinions and funny posts about current events. But there are of course also news articles, breaking stories… and the Bikini Report! And it’s hard to know how much of a problem this is, especially if they’re aware of it… but most of these consumers say the news they’re seeing is at least sometimes inaccurate.
