It is undeniable that too much screen time and social media is hurting our kids. The youth mental health crisis is pervasive and completely fixable.
We have strict screen time rules in my house, and as any parent can relate IT’S HARD! But it doesn’t have to be. We can solve this collective action problem ourselves, as parents and educators, without waiting for D.C. or the tech companies to do it for us (we all know how that goes)
Haidt lays out 4 simple rules:
1. No smartphones before high school
2. No social media until 16
3. Phone free schools
4. More independent play
